Songs that are of an INFJ nature

Elliott Smith "Memory Lane"

I love Elliott Smith

The lyrics for this are interesting, unintellible if you arent reading for them while the song plays. It starts out really misty and flowing. Then becomes intense and exacting. Not sure if everyone will like it, but most of everything about strikes me as very INFJ

I went walking underwater, came across an ocean liner
on the bottom rusting silent, filled with bones and crystal sand
filled with bones and crystal sand
Swam around and found the captain, strangled by the living seaweed
hands still clenched on the wheel, but going nowhere now
going nowhere now
Ninety years or there about, didn't hear a warning sound
engine room was tilting madly, playing as the lights went out
playing as the lights went out All the souls are lost forever, all the bones are scattered around
all the treasure sitting pretty, all the sea to share
all the sea to share

I've always felt that this song captures the loneliness that some INFJs feel because they're different to everyone else:

One more night
To bear this nightmare
What more do I have to say

Crying for me was never worth a tear
My lonely soul is only filled with fear

Long hours of loneliness
Between me and the sea

Losing emotion
Finding devotion
Should I dress in white and search the sea
As I always wished to be - one with the waves
Ocean Soul

Walking the tideline
I hear your name
Is angels whispering
Something so beautiful it hurts

Long hours of loneliness
Between me and the sea

I only wished to become something beautiful
Through my music, through my silent devotion

Losing emotion
Finding devotion
Should I dress in white and search the sea
As I always wished to be - one with the waves
Ocean Soul

Losing emotion
Finding devotion
Should I dress in white and search the sea
As I always wished to be - one with the waves
Ocean Soul

Artist: Husker Du
Song: Too Far Down
Album: Candy Apple Grey
Year: 1987

I'm down again
And I don't know how to tell you
But maybe this time I can't come back
Because I might be too far down

I wish for real
That I could turn it on and off
Like hot and cold and up and down
Because I'm down again

I'm too far down
I couldn't begin to smile
Because I can't even laugh or cry
Because I just can't do it

If it was so easy to be happy
Why am I so down?
All I can do is sit and wonder if it's going to end
Or if I should just go away forever

When I sit and think
I wish that I just could die
Or let someone else be happy
By setting my own self free

And you don't want the emotion
Because the taste it leaves is for real
But nothing's ever real until it's gone
And I might be too far down

And is this just another thrown away
Or is this the end of the whole stupid road
But you wouldn't want to know how I feel anyway
Because the darkest hole is at the end of the road

I'm down again
And I guess I'm not the only one who dreams
That there's not any way to tell you
Because I might be too far down

I guess this one is for every type... But I had to post it.

i love ani difranco. her lyrics are reflective, ironic, and with penetrating depth.
'In the Deep' by Bird York and many other songs by her are also quite INFJ

"Breathe" by Alexi Murdoch

In the quiet of the shadow
In the corner of a room
Darkness moves upon you
Like a cloud across the moon

You're a-wearing all the silence
Of a constant that will turn
Like the windmill left deserted
Or the sun forever burn

So don't forget to breathe
Don't forget to breathe
Your whole life is here
No eleventh hour reprieve
So don't forget to breathe

Keep your head above water
But don't forget to breathe

And all the suffering that you've witnessed
And the hand prints on the wall
They remind you how it's endless
How endlessly you fall

And the answer that you're seeking
For the question that you found
Drives you further to confusion
As you lose your sense of ground

So don't forget to breathe
Don't forget to breathe
Your whole life is here
No eleventh hour reprieve
So don't forget to breathe

Keep your head above water
But don't forget to breathe

Breathe....

Don't forget to breathe
Don't forget to breathe
You know you are here
But you find you want to leave
So don't forget to... breathe

Just breathe
Just breathe
Just breathe...
Just breathe...
Just breathe...

My Last Breath by Evanescence

Hold on to me love
You know I can't stay long
All I wanted to say was I love you and I'm not afraid
Can you hear me?
Can you feel me in your arms?

Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you
Sweet raptured light
It ends here tonight

I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree(come find me)
I know you hear me
I can taste it in your tears

Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you
Sweet raptured light
It ends here tonight

Closing your eyes to disappear
You pray your dreams will leave you here
But still you wake and know the truth
No one's there

Say goodnight
Don't be afraid
Calling me, calling me as you fade to black

Sven Gali - Red Moon

from the album 'Inwire' (1995)

There ya go and come again
Break out the sky
Sail away behind the fading
Trust

7 ways of writing
End up in screams
Compromize the truth and watch
It work its path

Lately we keep shining on
Beside the dark and red red
Moon

She calls me a servants child
As she walks on by

Oceans not a choice for me
Must understand
To make amends
As it pulls us in

Winds of Autumn change within
Fall thru the sky
Sail away behind that fading
Trust

She's my red moon
It's a beautiful song. Sad, knowing, forgiving, hopeful.

Faith No More "We Care A Lot"

We care a lot about disasters, fires, floods and killer bees
We care a lot about the NASA shuttle falling in the sea
We care a lot about starvation and the food that Live Aid bought
We care a lot about disease, baby Rock, Hudson, rock, yeah!

We care a lot about the gamblers and the pushers and the geeks
We care a lot about the crack and smack and whack that hits the street
We care a lot about the welfare of all the boys and girls
We care a lot about you people cause we're out to save the world

YEAH!

And it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it

We care a lot about the army navy air force and marines
We care a lot about the SF, NY and LAPD
We care a lot about you people, about your guns
about the wars you're fighting gee that looks like fun

We care a lot about the Garbage Pail Kids, they never lie
We care a lot about Transformers cause there's more than meets the eye

We care a lot about the little things, the bigger things we top
We care a lot about you people yeah you bet we care a lot,

YEAH!

Well, its a dirty job but someone's gotta do it
And it's a dirty song but someone's gotta sing it

"Broken" by Seether w/ Amy Lee

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph, I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

"Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I'm strong enough
"Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

(x2)
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
"Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
