TED Talks

Yeah, I'm not surprised. It is that way pretty much everywhere, and as messed up as the USA is, most other countries are even more corrupt .

Thank you for saying this.

What are yiu talking about? There is no link that I can see?
I'm talking about this

TED tried to disassociate themselves after they recorded these three.
I think they are great talks that ask a lot of good (yet still very controversial) questions.

Sunitha Krishnan has dedicated her life to rescuing women and children from sex slavery, a multimilion-dollar global market. In this courageous talk, she tells three powerful stories, as well as her own, and calls for a more humane approach to helping these young victims rebuild their lives.

By providing content, resources, and connections, Dr. Cortney Warren's goal is to support anyone who is brave enough to live a more conscious life. For when we are honest about who we really are, we have the opportunity to change.

I love TED talks, but I'm aware that a lot of talks, especially those from TEDx get censored and don't make it to the Internet. TED like to stay within mainstream science, anything outside the box gets blocked or removed. There is a list of banned talks if you can still find them, they might be on YouTube.

This is one of my favorites:

In James Howard Kunstler's view, public spaces should be inspired centers of civic life and the physical manifestation of the common good. Instead, he argues, what we have in America is a nation of places not worth caring about.

Very interesting, yet a bit scary.

To indulge in my whims, here's a TED Talk about newspapers. Wait, don't leave, it's not boring! It's about the huge impact an aesthetically pleasing design can have: https://www.ted.com/talks/jacek_utko_asks_can_design_save_the_newspaper?language=en

And here's another one at the relationship between shaping reality with words and shaping words with reality: https://www.ted.com/talks/mark_fors...son_in_political_speak/transcript?language=en

Now, onward:

I'm watching a TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson which is now my no.1 idol/icon and things are finally sinking in
https://www.ted.com/talks/sir_ken_robinson_bring_on_the_revolution

You're so amazing to share this link with us. I heard this talk a while ago and forgot the speaker's name, so I couldn't revisit it. Now I can! I love this talk so much. Education is indeed stifling at times.

And of course, I love this talk even more because Lincoln in referenced in it.

I don't know about the other types, but infjs are all like this:
https://www.ted.com/talks/emilie_wapnick_why_some_of_us_don_t_have_one_true_calling
Please watch it.

I don't know, this talk seems very Ne-centric to me, and I liked the talk and related to it because of that. So I'm curious: where do you see the Ni of an INFJ?

Strange, I was talking to someone yesterday about addiction and connection and this morning, I ended up watching this Ted talk.

What really causes addiction – to everything from cocaine to smart-phones? And how can we overcome it? Johann Hari has seen our current methods fail firsthand, as he has watched loved ones struggle to manage their addictions. He started to wonder why we treat addicts the way we do – and if there might be a better way. As he shares in this deeply personal talk, his questions took him around the world, and unearthed some surprising and hopeful ways of thinking about an age-old problem.

Johann Hari - "The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection."
