What if we have not fallen from grace, but stepped into mission? A descent with purpose?

What if searching reveals something that seeing never can?

What if God didn't create a perfect world, but a world that can be perfected?

What if we are born here on earth to accomplish something that cannot exist in heaven?

What if it's not about Original Sin, but about Original Purpose?

What if it's not about getting to heaven, but about bringing heaven to earth?

Oh I LOVE that song!

Did you ever used to watch Joan of Arcadia?

I vaguely remember watching an episode or two and the main girl
Never really got into it though, what is your mental connection here?

what if "purpose" is an anthropomorphism that has no cosmic meaning.

Don't give into the dark side

@SlowUpTake—

What if it doesn’t matter if “purpose” is an anthropomorphism that has not cosmic meaning?

If there is no point, what if we just choose to make meaning anyway?

What if @meowzician’s post is taken as a non-literal invitation to doing just that?

@meowzician—

Let’s say meaning was made under the frame work that there was no objective “purpose”. What if that was Light and not dark?

As for me?

Well, yes—naturally.
I read it symbolically. God is One. Light and dark are a part of the Whole.

Thank you for you very kind and insightful post.

See here is the thing. If I do good? If you do good? Does it really matter if the purpose is objective or we make our own meaning? Doesn't it accomplish the same thing? In fact, let's assume far worse. Let's assume someone does good for purely selfish reasons. Let's say Joe gives a $5 to a homeless guy to buy lunch just to impress his religious friends. Does that really matter to the homeless guy? I think the only thing he cares about is that he was so hungry, and now he can buy something to eat.

It is difficult for my mind not to wander into the territory of wondering about metaphysical truths. But the older I get, the better able I am to stop wasting my energy on things I can never know, and devote my efforts to doing the good that I can do.
