I was surprised because I didn't think Hellogoodbye had ever really gotten a limelight

With the albums, it depends on the timing. Native was published around the time where awareness around (South) Africa was rising. Sure, the stories are their own, but the music stlye is largely influenced by mainstream. Thus the conclusion is not far off that they became more mainstream.

Asking for reasons does not predetermine a presence of reasons. I understand that you don't get the screaming, and it put me off as well, but I got used to it when I worked in a club. Once I was able to hear the lyrics through it, it didn't bother me as much anymore. But, and that is something which has always been this way, I prefer screaming over growling. At least the lyrics are more easily made out. BTW, the screaming has largely disappeared with the third album.

30 Seconds to Mars: The Kill was their best song. And the only song I liked.

Hm I see, I see. Okay, you win, although I still think they're still the same lol :relieved: Yes, thank you for pointing that out, it seemed like a good statement when I made it haha. I will try and search for the lyrics and maybe ease myself into it. If it doesn't work then it's a shame. I had a friend who liked heavy metal. Yeah I totally like The Kill too, it just feels your soul, and when I sing to it, it releases that emotion.:contemplatingthecosmos:

Just one thing I need to point out - I HATE heavy metal. It's close enough for the uninitiated, but actually the genre is metalcore. I hate to be pedantic, but I hate heavy metal more.

Yeah I do, one day of these days, that cute guy will definitely make my heart melt. Well I was in Africa at the time so yeah, I guess they did a bit. Well I'm glad for the music, thanks.

Oh it's okay, I didn't know what to call it. I didn't know there was such thing as metalcore hence the mistake. This is great, I'm expanding my music horizon. Thanks.

Unknown Pleasures is one of the greatest albums of all time, and the song "Disorder" one of the most important in my life.

Me too. It's a gorgeous song.

There is such an amazing spectrum of different emotions in that song.

And in general, I feel like JD just don't age lol. Their music sounds as pristine now as it did back then.

Every artist on this list have one song on my playlist. I recently discovered Rachmaninoff (yes, I know that I live under a rock,) and instantly fell in love.

Thanks for the contribution. It's an interesting band, like the beat on that song, reminds of something but not sure what.

Thanks for the artists. I actually know about five of them,lol. I like AlunaGeorge, about 5 songs of theirs. Sigma, Afrojack, Gordon City, Disclosure and Acqualung. The last five being one song artists.
