I am happy almost all of the time......I think. Perhaps I've never been really happy but who knows, I have nothing to compare my current state to!
That said, part of me is always sad as well (my place of observation)...but not at my core. The essential me is happy. I think if we live in a world of lack, of never-enough, it is hard to be content. However, if we live in a world of plenty, a world in which there is always enough, it is hard not to smile. Believe it or not, this seems to be an inner discovery, less of an external condition.
