There's no reason at all to be sorry! It's good to get things like that off your chest. I think I cried mainly, too, because I found it to be a touching story. That's one of the reasons why I've never been fond of calling other animals "it." Reminds me of when I've heard people say "it's just an animal." Yeah, and what are you? Sometimes it seems like these creatures are capable of more humanity than many of my fellow human beings (not you, of course, from your words I've read you've got humanity in excess). Really, thank you for sharing that. That's the mark of a true friend, being caring enough to do the comforting even when it seems like the roles should've been reversed. Really, though, you deserved the comforting. Life is shitty. We sob, we scream, we crumple into nervous wrecks, we have manic rages. Having a wonderful friend there to help you weather the storm is a lovely thing, indeed. : )
