Lol. Mom is stubborn. Well, first thing they tried was an iron infusion but she reacted so badly to that that she couldn't continue taking it. So next is something called "Niferex" or something like that...but she's afraid to take it. She thinks she'll have another reaction because it's another iron type. But I'm working on her. For now she's eating a lot of liver and we're using iron skillets to cook.
YAY! That's great news. Mom's tumor is shrinking, and she just had a CAT scan a few days ago, but so far I think she's chugging along. We'll have to get her blood count up though. She's still terribly anemic.
She's better - getting a little stronger every day. The medicine really is working, but she needs to be on it for the rest of her life. Hopefully she'll be able to afford it now, since she's receiving a special scholarship.
That's definitely a hard thing. I don't want to sound like an optimist with no idea of the place you are in, but at the very absolute least you don't have to play catch-up for all those "missed" years.
