A few points to correct here. US, Israel, and Iran are all causing this. For purposes of recording accurate history, both in 2025 and 2026, the US bombed Iran first without --by rules of war definition-- acceptable factual provocations from Iran.So some things to expect is the shortages will appear as this war drags on starting with fuel then later other goods. Any peace achieved will be false as Iran will rearm then eventually attack energy infrastructure in the region again on a wider scale. This year we could see fuel rationing then eventually other goods particularly food. This war is setting the stage for the US China conflict over Taiwan which will have a much greater impact.
Don't be surprised if they bring back the lockdowns along with fuel rationing to limit consumption if things get bad enough.
Yup. Plastic is a byproduct of refineries. Packaging will shoot up too.Petroleum comes from the Middle East, but so do the basis materials for fertilizer.
Petroleum affects harvesting and distribution.
Fertilizer affects yields and soil resilience.
No biomass from harvest means no ability to flex E85. America produces light sweet crude. For our general use, we must import heavy sour crude.
You think groceries are expensive now? You just wait.
Buckle Up, Buttercup,
