Corona / Wuhan virus

Aren't most flu cases of the Corona Virus? The craze now is about COVID-19. I really think we should all just survive it. I haven't heard of healthy individuals dying because of this strain. It often killed the weak. It's lethal only to immuno-compromised patients. Maybe this is nature's way of Hitlerizing the world to leave it with only the healthy ones.
Idk. I know there is a bunch of stuff that is coronavirus though. I'm not worried about myself or my kids, but I am concerned for my aging relatives (and others I don't know personally) and people I care about that have compromised immune systems, like many folks here on the forum.

I think that douche-tit that was told to self isolate and went to Boston instead and infected everyone at that convention should go to jail for a minute. I mean really, that's just selfish, careless, bullshit.

I agree that panic mode is a little over the top, then again, I'm not in a high risk category for complications from it. It's understandable that some peeps are really freaking out because they are potentially facing the end. Idk

I do my part to prevent catching it and spreading it to others by dumping rubbing alcohol all over me and setting myself on fire if I ever step out the house and right before I walk in when I return. So far the open burn wounds aren't too severe but it's better than being careless... The things I do for people...

I'm not scared. Just pissed off.

Mad at the incompetence the US CDC is showing on tracking and controlling this. Even if it's not the worst case scenario (I'm not sure what would constitute that), they could at least treat this as though it were a threat. Picking and choosing who to test due to their location is not the way to control anything.

LOL. Isn't that trump's thing though? He's all about the gold... Golden showers.

Containment is the first step, obviously. But after lives are protected, as best they can be, and the danger is gone the most important step is prevention. A call toward some proper legislation over these wet markets that run amuck. It's absolutely overdue. First SARS, now Covid-19.

How many people have to die so that others can enjoy purchasing 'wild meat' from live animal wet markets which are unsanitary and unregulated, from China to Mongolia?

I think the panic is a little high, but then again, if people are freaked out then maybe those who have it won't leave isolation? Someone in Dartmouth did the same thing – was told to stay in isolation and went to an event.

My SO is something of a Doomsday prepper on a good day, so we have enough food, water, and supplies to stay at our house for months without leaving. He is getting a little out of control with supplies right now, though.

Anyway, here's Wonderwall:

So, idiots have been told to stay in, are venturing out... supposedly intelligent people too. :rage:

Aside from not testing her, they didn't even tell my daughter to stay in isolation. Handed her some masks, sent her off for an x-ray, called in a prescription for basic albuterol. (From what she told me, while she was still in the room the doctor was on the otherside of the door discussing shutting off that exam room and sterilizing the entire area).

I'm glad she's not part of any stats, but seriously, she should be tested even if this turns out to be just influenza.

I'm not letting her go out and running all errands for her, making sure I'm sterilized before doing so.

@MoonFlier - I understood your anger before, but now even more so. I really hope she recovers quickly and you don't get it.
Thanks for nothing, doctor.

I wouldn't let her go out, either.
