Corona / Wuhan virus

LOL, that last line reminds me of the Chrysler-Dodge comercial when the brother hoovers his finger just above the sisters skin and she yells "Will you stop touching me!" He says he's not touching her, and she yells, "Mommmmm, he's touching me!" And, the brother is just laughing maniacally :tearsofjoy:

To keep it going...ever see the movie Corina, Corina with Whoopie?
I love this movie

No, no, no, ! :joycat:
I hadn't seen that movie, going to have to find it now!

I don't think this virus is funny, but references to these weapons are funny, especially in the context of being introverted.
In high school, our prefect of discipline was getting alarmed at the number of cases of high school kids making out at classrooms so it got to a point where a 1.5m distance between girls and boys was imposed. LOLOLOL This really did happen with a measuring stick. The prefect was a spinster too.

Thanks Milky, I just wanted to hear that I wasn't over-reacting by cancelling on her.
Extended families are a thing here so it's normal for grandparents to live with kid+wife+grandkid. It helps people save up on daycare costs. The other day, someone I know moved out of their house with wife and kid to leave parents behind because the couple still have to work 6 days a week. So, yes. You're not over reacting. You are doing the correct thing.

i live in an apt complex in clinton, i feel the massive pool of negative vibes, fear and occasionally joy, the negativity is draining me, i listen to music which sometimes pulls me down a bit, but then it will ultimately disconnect me for a moment from that pool of negativity. and fear, then i go out, and try to make people smile. im known as a likeable guy here, and oen to talk to if you need to talk, i tell them im always willing to listen. i rarely smile lol, just how i am. anyhoo back to outside to talk, then ill binge listen to youtube lol take care :)

Yeah, Americans: why is Trump out of step with the rest of the world, saying that you'll be 'open for business' again in a few weeks, &c.?

What's he trying to do? Settle or confuse the markets?
Because he's a selfish moron outta tune with his own drum. He's losing money so he's making false claims.
The American Fed says we here are all covered come what may. Foreign investors shouldn't get antsy and start yanking or moving money bc it's all good.
Once Trump's goons remove the corporate and big business from the stimulus and get citizens paid, things will start moving, albeit slowly, but it will start moving.
Corp and BB can wait this time. In 2008 many people lost bc of BB bailout, it's the peoples time to win now. The Dems will pass the stimulus but it takes many weathly Repb's to sit this round out.
Getting the people a sense if security is most important bc they are the ones that will break their backs to save the nation. We can't risk them quitting because they are jaded over all the past times they've been skrewed. The POTUS needs to notice who is actually keeping things together on the frontline.
IMHO, it's a great thing to have our factories and industrials switch up the production lines and get medical needs met. Let's hope they do it from a place of grace and not greed. ;)

I agree with Sandie very much.
So far, he's consistently made totally BS and nonsensical statements...he seems to think that he can lie his way via Twitter and elsewhere and that playbook will still work with the virus when that is more along the lines of magical thinking (not in a good way).
The Doctor in charge Dr. Fauci made a statement the other day...something like - "I can't exactly throw myself in front of the microphone while he's speaking." - referring to all the false and misleading statements Trump makes on a constant basis that the Doctor then has to walk back or clarify.
Like his statement about the malaria drug also used for Lupus (which my mom takes) - Hydroxychloroquine.
Saying that it's some kind of cure, when that is wholly untrue and has no solid proof other than some subjective cases.
But, now there are those who are hoarding the medication, making another artificial shortage for those with Lupus and malaria for that matter.
There have even been reports of several people in S Africa overdosing on the medication and dying after he made this claim.
*eye roll*
As far as the stimulus that the Congress is trying to pass - the Democrats have had to vote no twice so far because the Republicans want to bail out a huge list of corporate entities with zero to no oversight, essentially creating a giant slush-fund of taxpayer money with no interest.
(Also making who gets how much secret for 6 months - why?)
While the working people get a couple of checks that have so many restrictions placed on getting it that estimates say that about 80% of those who need the help will not be able to get it.
(Any company with under 50 employees and any company with over 500 need not apply)
It's more BS and more handouts to the wealthy who really don't need it.
Meanwhile they've floated a plan to give "low-interest" loans to small businesses and independent contractors - really?
So the banks and corporate world don't have to pay anything back and could easily gain such loans based on their assets, but the working people must pay back money when they live paycheck to paycheck?
(He has also refused to say his family won't take any of the bailout money for his hotels)
Ridiculous.
I still haven't seen any testing going on in my area though we have cases growing each day.
We have posts on FB asking for people to sew masks for healthcare workers because we don't have enough PPE for them all - which really chaps my ass big time.
I mean, people in full body isolation suits are still getting the illness and they want US workers to wear bandanas?
The fuck you say...
Not to mention our giant shortage of ventilators that will become a huge problem in the next couple weeks - we will be triaging people and deciding who will live and die because we won't have enough.
Unacceptable.
Trump refuses to use the wartime powers act to nationalize production of such things as masks and respirators because - "nationalizing our industries is un-american".
*sigh*
A couple of weeks ago so was doling out checks to people, yet here we are. ;)
His constant delay delay delay is going to make preventable deaths unpreventable.
First is was deny deny deny - we're still all open for business!
His precious economy and stock market are all he cares about because that was the main sticking point of his reelection efforts.
Now that it's all gone up in smoke, he still continues to make irresponsible and false statements as if he has any credibility left.
We are already in a recession here in the US, it's just not official.
I'm not sure as Sandie has said that Trump will ever notice that the people are the ones holding shit together, he's too much of a narcissist.
Rome is burning and Nero is fiddling.

Love to you all!

Drumpf saying "we'll get back to work in a couple weeks" is basically like any other dictator assuring their people that everything is fine when everything is in fact not fine

One thing that's been interesting is that the media is saying things "will get worse" this week.
Which is something I've never heard the media say, ever in my lifetime, that I can recall.

What in the hell?
I would like to see how he feels when he can't breathe.
The idiocy of Faux "News" never fails to astound.

(Edit - Where is this attitude when it comes to global warming? Hypocrites.)

When Trump said yesterday that "The cure cannot be worse than the disease" and things would be going back to the way they were in a few weeks, that is where my mind went. To the most vulnerable being asked to make the sacrifice for our economy.
