Do you own your body after death?

if this thread plays at the idea of the gov for lack of a better word "harvesting" organs from those who are deceased, does that mean cremation should be illegal

I think your body should still be treated with respect after you die, but everyone should be given the choice of a donor card and maybe their kids/parents should be too, 'cause they're kind of close to you.
As for 'owning' your body... do you even own it when you're alive? It's not really a possession, but kind of 'you'.... I'd say you 'are' your body, but I don't know about owning... it's a confusing expression ^^"

postmortem ownership would greatly complicate the death tax

tell that to Jerry Garcia's wives.

You own your body after death for the same reason you own your house, clothes, and bank assets after death.

That being said, I wish more people decided to be organ donors...
It should be opt out, rather than opt in.

The nonexistent cannot own anything, hence it's not your body, what's left is a cadaver and I believe finders keepers rules should work to assign its new rightful owners.
