It's a set up

They got a beautiful actress, dressed her up in figure hugging black (i think everyone would agree a quite sexy colour!) and they got her to march through deprived areas with flesh on show while other people were covered up

There's a name for that and its called 'entrapment'

There are ways of creating impressions for example they might have shot tons of footage and then edited it to show what they showed; also they got her to walk through deprived areas of town

if you go into the deprived areas and your face doesn't fit YOU STAND OUT; so if a person is looking like they want to stand out then it might seem to some people that they are looking for attention

Not saying that excuses it but it's a factor to be considered

Well there are reasons for that suffering and sense can be made of it and a person who understands it is able to engage with it more astutely and that is empowerment

(thanks for asking) I abhor cat calling, and am fortunate to live in a city where it rarely occurs. Blaming it on women, for what ever arcane reasoning (ie george soros et al) is retarded. Only a Zealot, who believes utterly in the sanctity of his world view, would see fit to blame the victim.

Being from outside of NYC and having seen the manhattan construction site version of cat calling i must add that there is an element of narcissistic street theater to those who engage in it. Like those guys are trying to prove that they are not "nothings" that they have power and they matter.

I also never see it (very rarely anyway)

This is why i feel the clip is a bit dissingenuous because it is not specifying that it is in deprived areas of new york and therefore it feels like it is smearing all men unfairly

But even in the defence of those men in those deprived areas i don't think they are necessarily intrinsically bad people i think they have not had the best start in life and i think there are forces at work in our world which unfortunatly can bring out the worst in people sometimes

I like to take the whole picture into account not just snapshots

This allows me to see how men and women are both being manipulated; this makes me see people in general in a more forgiving light

However presumably you just think the guys are arseholes and maybe deserve to be sent to jail or perhaps taken round the back of the building and given a good shoeing? Cos presumably that will really help them to be all they can be...cos they're not at all the product of their times or environment...right?

Having worked on building sites and various other manual labour jobs i have seen the world through those mens eyes

I can tell you that when you do hard physical work in the dust and the dirt and in all weathers and your limbs ache and your nostrils are full of the stench of mens sweat there is something truely incredible about a female presence

A woman walking past can seem like a breathe of fresh air; of course i didn't ever whistle but sometimes i did have an admiring glance and my thoughts weren't always sexual in nature...sometimes it was just the softness of her in a world full of hard edges, tough men, unforgiving gaffers and long hours; working class men who also feel that sensation but can't process it in a more refined way might in a world where sensitivity is snuffed out and discouraged from a young age express their jubilation in a more crude manner

As i've already explained i don't care how women dress, the point is what is the sexual health of the nation like?

If everyone is getting sex then hey everyone is happy

if not everyone is getting sex but society is still being sexualised and some people are contributing to that through the way they act and dress then it creates sexual haves and have nots and i think that's going to lead to some tenisons that will express themselves in various ways

Sometimes the energies will be released in fairly neutral ways like porn (porn isn't neutral in itself though because it has externalities such as the exploitation of vulnerable women and it has an effect on the psyche of the viewer which is not always beneficial) but sometimes it will come out in negative ways like cat calling

if this is not making any sense then think about it this way.....

if so then why do you feel those things? We could speak in scientific terms about various chemicals in the brain and body and hormones and so on but lets use a more psychic term for a minute and describe it as an energy that wants to be expressed

It is like water built up behind a dam. if the water is not released to take the pressure of the dam then it will overflow or even damage the dam in a big and violent outpour

So what i'm saying is that putting aside what a woman is wearing for a minute...there is a process at work in wider society where sex is used to sell things and invariably it is a female body used for that

We're exposed to things that provoke sexual thoughts all the time and it is building sexual energies. if those energies have a helathy expression ie sex then great!

but if they are not then i think it leads to frustration and tensions

have you ever seen those experiments where they get a bunch of guys and a bunch of gals to go out for the day and walk around and everytime they think of sex they have to click a clacker they give them which records the number of times it is pressed?

The guys always come back with masses more clicks on their clackers! Their thought is literally being distracted by sex all the time!

This is because imo men are being exposed to more images that promote sexual thought than women are. For example mens fashions are a lot less....flattering
