As an Evangelical Christian, I would just like to apologize for what we as white Evangelicals have done. The support of Trump despite his many flaws is not right. It grieves me that my tribe is putting politics above their faith.

I voted for Trump, but my vote was a vote against Kamala, who is essentially a communist. But the way white Evangelicals are defending Trump makes me sick to my stomach. This is not what I signed up for. I signed up for being Biblical in all things, not being a Trump apologist, and excusing terrible behavior.

Also, on behalf of being a Christian from the US, I want to apologize to my fellow Christians in other countries. I can't imagine what they think of us. Not all of us are like this, though it is a huge problem for white evangelicals to defend the government so much when "their guy" is in power.

So much grief over politics today. The US has become a propaganda mill on both sides, admittedly, and we are a very sinful people who put expediency above principle.

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

I've heard this verse come up for me at least four times in the last few days, from different sources. Clearly, God is trying to get my attention with something.

It dawns on me now, the impact this meeting with the prophet, with whom I had one conversation, that turned my life around forever, had on my view of the Word of God. This man confirmed the Bible as the Word of God to me. Though the origin of this individual is deeply mysterious, I left the encounter with a deep sense of reverence for the Word of God.

I think this verse coming up for me so often recently is a reminder of the impression this man left on me of his high reverence for the Word of God, which he passed on to me. I needed to be reminded of this. Rather than the focus on the man (who he was, whether he came from a supernatural origin or not), I should instead be focusing on how he made his points that cut through all my weaknesses, and he did this with the Word of God.

I will always be thankful to that man. I debated (and in some sense, still do) whether this man was Jesus in the flesh. He spoke as though he knew me. Like he was a living, breathing version of Hebrews 4:12. He left me with an uncompromising faith which led to a great change in me, both internally and externally, both spiritually and physically. I know I have a long way to go. That is what the Word of God says. But, wherever you are, dear friend, thank you for pointing me towards the Truth. My resolve is solid.
 
The concept of the book, "Revival or We Die" by Dr. Michael Brown is happening before our eyes. We've gone through ebbs and flows, putting far too much emphasis on Trump as Evangelicals, and we had the #AsburyOutpouring and subsequent events (Charlie Kirk's Martyrdom), but we were too loyal to Trump. Now, Christians are waking up. Evangelicals are speaking up after seeing the ugly side of Christian Nationalism. Evangelicals are speaking out against Trump's obvious blunders. In the end, the Lord will have His way.

He will NOT forsake the righteous who have prayed for revival for decades, only for people like Candace Owens to trample on the grave of Charlie Kirk. Something carnal happened when Trump won the election. Something spiritual happened when Charlie Kirk was assassinated. I felt it for both—a shift in the atmosphere. I can't be alone in that.

I am especially thankful to God, who bears all things and believes all things. How He could love a wretch like me? That he could raise up more people like me, who are broken by the sin they keep repeating, even questioning whether they were going to make it in the long run. But God is ever faithful, long-suffering with His people. He will not abandon us, regardless of our sin, as long as we can keep coming to Him in our brokenness.

This Easter and Passover season, I'm looking forward to what God is going to do with this nation. Not because of political clout, or Trump making circumstances better for us. Not even in spite of whether the war gets turned up to 11, and all the pieces start to crumble. Whatever God's will is, I submit to it, not because I am holy, but because I have seen how God is faithful to His people.

Jesus died and rose for me. For you. For the whole human race! He's given us everything. He has given us grace at the cross... at the expense of the life of the Son of God. And God vindicated Christ's sacrifice when he raised Christ from the dead, deeming all honor, all glory, all power, all wisdom, all authority in heaven and on earth are HIS.

Let's give God our everything. Let's watch as God does the miracle in this nation.
