The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage

I have a habit of resurrecting old threads. I inherited it from Lurker

Because the fact that 2 parties are only allowed to marry is also pretty discriminative.

Are you allowed to own more than one driving license?

It's the same thing when it comes to a marriage license. We can legitimately limit the number of licenses a person can possess.

Furthermore, who inherits what in a polygamous marriage? Does the wife with the most children get the larger chunk of the estate? Or is it the wife he married first?

Slant, when you said that gay marriage should not be legalized because there should be a separation of church and state, I think you are missing the point of why it is unfair that gay people not be able to get married. A gay couple does not have the same rights as a married straight couple and is viewed differently in the eyes of the government. Gay couples have every right to the benefits that straight couples enjoy from the government, ect.
