I cant imagine this thread to last long now.

I don’t know, colluding with a foreign power to rig elections is a pretty big offense. It’s treasonous no matter how you look at it.
I agree and I don't think he will be impeached. If he was, I think I would have heard more buzz about it. I've only heard murmurs on this site and barely anything on FB. That indicates to me that 1. people aren't pushing thier politicians hard enough if they want him impeached and 2. that it won't happen.

That and we haven’t had a smokin gun moment. But, things might not roll out the way it did with Nixon, so there might not be a gotcha moment.

I agree it’s still in the early days and it remains to be seen what can be connected to Trump personally.

Trump admits to obstruction of justice on Twitter, says he only did it to ‘fight back’Screen Shot 2018-04-11 at 4.10.27 PM.webp

On Wednesday morning, President Trump tried to make a case that investigators had no good reason to raid the office, home, and hotel room of his longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

But in doing so, Trump seemed to casually admit to obstruction of justice.

“I (we) are… doing things that nobody thought possible, despite the never ending and corrupt Russia Investigation, which takes tremendous time and focus,” Trump tweeted. “No Collusion or Obstruction (other than I fight back), so now they do the Unthinkable, and RAID a lawyers office for information! BAD!”

Suffice it to say there is no “fighting back” exception to obstruction of justice charges, which were part of the articles of impeachment against Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.

..... Trump is President, a fact that socialist and communists don't like. He's getting in the way of them tearing down the country and rebuilding it in their desired image. However, of all the charges and complaints on their part let's remember there is nothing..absolutely NOTHING ...no evidence that links him with any of the accusations conjured by the obstruction party. That's the simple fact....Impeachment? Yes he could br impeached but only with evidence that's irrefutable concerning something he hasnt even done yet. But with what we know at this time? It will never happen.
couldn't resist

I don’t think he will be impeached either. I think he’s more worried about embarrassment in public, which he probably thinks is just as bad. The Apprentice wouldn’t have been any fun for him if people on the show could challenge him or make him look stupid or weak. He’s probably frustrated to find that he can’t control his image as easily under the presidential spotlight, and firing people doesn’t mean they’re written off of the show anymore.

As I stated elsewhere I really think he’s just trying to grab as much loot and change as much legislation as possible to line his family’s pockets while he can. It’s almost like he’s a dumber Vince McMahon.

I used to think he would resign if the DOJ had enough evidence to try him for criminal behavior. Now I think it is clear that they do or at least that he thinks they do. His only defense is to stay in office and drag the country down with him. In that scenario he may well be impeached and driven from office by the Senate. To @the 's point about the mood of the country 1) according to recent polling by abc and WAPO half of the pop think he is guilty of collusion and 2) Facebook has really died down as far a politics is concerned.Untitled.webp

I hope he isn't impeached, because I hope he hasn't done anything to merit it.

I think though given his erratic and impulsive behavior, who knows what might happen.

I'm not old enough to remember Nixon, but I honestly can't remember anything like this. The sheer number of people he's dismissed, that were his own appointments. His tweets, and his interviews.

He still remains the only presidential candidate for either party (since the early seventies) who hasn't produced his tax details.

Even though he promised to, before and after the election.

If Trump is impeached, the next person in line... Pence?

Is that better?

I almost think that's worse. And by almost, I mean really.

If impeachment meant anyone involved with Trump - maybe. But instead, we would get the shitshow that is Pence.

These are our leaders, in line for succession.

'Murica.

I don't think he will be removed before re-election time. Even if the process were to begin, impeachment doesn't actually remove him from office - only conviction or resignation does.

I don't think he will either - I'm just pointing out that even if he were, it wouldn't be some magical improvement. It could even make things worse than they already are. That is all.

We can't let bad alternatives paralyze the system. Otherwise any candidate can make themselves safe by making sure they run with another idiot that nobody wants to replace them.

I thoroughly agree. Unfortunately, that seems to be my impression so far. But, we can change things going forward. I hope.

So far, I've primarily seen another idiot I don't want to see replace the president. Maybe it's a campaign strategy? A depressing strategy?

But, I'd rather not be nihilistic and just expect this BS to happen.

I disagree, Pence is not nearly as erratic, and probably not nearly as guilty of decades of fraud.
