In 1980 the Kuwaiti ambassador to the UN was ABDULLAH Y BISHARA who in 1981 became the first general secretary of the Gulf cooperation council comprised of six gulf states and formed in response to their fears of the Shite government in Iran and all of whom supported Iraq's war against Iran. It seems highly unlikely that he would have made speech saying"'a cabal which controls and manipulates and exploits the rest of humanity by controlling the money and wealth of the world" it seems more likely that someone just made that up and put it in their poorly researched book.

This is random, but the other day, I was thinking about all of these borderline-insane conspiracy theories going around, and...a light went off. We should change the name from "conspiracy" theory to "Throw-a-bunch-of-shit-up-against-a-wall-and-see-what-sticks" Theory. Because this is what I imagine every time I hear a new one.
Any thoughts? I think it's catchy.
P.S. I'm serious.

Which then got cited in other poorly researched books and which all lent credibility to the original idea in the view of credulous conspiracy theorists engaging in some confirmation bias motivated "researching" or reading.
The thing about conspiracy theorising that bothers me is that its too easily reducible to anti-semitism, its interesting though, I'm glad to have made the acquaintence of much of it because I just couldnt fathom most old world anti-semitism, particularly that of Hitler in his book and its unprinted follow up, which shows him more of the older world imperialist than ever. I just dont know how anyone would take it seriously at all. Usually I just took it for granted that people in Germany had to be so traumatised by the first world war and its aftermath and angered by left wing efforts which didnt deliver as hoped or expected, at least, or perhaps most importantly, in terms of ego boosting exercises. Also that race theories mattered in a way that its hard to understand now, in the same way that other rituals and traditions are bewildering.
However the conspiracy theorising about the Rothschilds etc. which I've read here and elsewhere, usually coming out the US right wing and nationalist scene its got to be said, which makes it odd to hear people like Muir testifying for left wing ideologies like Chomsky's anarchism, almost makes it easy to see how people could be taken in by anti-semitism.

Its hard to believe the extent to which a lot of them appear to be derivative from the plots of the game series Assasins Creed to be honest, I can imagine a lot of kids creating fan fiction or fabricating stories because its exciting to believe that life itself is more like the make believe of a video game and posting it all online like 4chan or creepy pasta or other social media weird wide web materials.
I didnt realise just the extent of this until recently when people mentioned it here, I knew the associations between the games and theories about the templars, guild of assasins, Dan Brown style stories about masonry etc. but its all make believe and I dont think that's really understood very well.

The name "JASON" is sometimes explained as an acronym, standing either for "July-August-September-October-November", the months in which the group would typically meet; or, tongue-in-cheek, for "Junior Achiever, Somewhat Older Now". But neither explanation is right and in fact, the name is not an acronym at all. It's simply a reference to the Greek myth, Jason. The wife of one of the founders (Mildred Goldberger) thought the name given by the defense department, Project Sunrise, was unimaginative and suggested the group be named for a hero and his search.
Jason studies have included a now-mothballed system for communicating with submarines using extremely long radio waves (Project Seafarer, Project Sanguine); an astronomical technique for overcoming the atmosphere's distortion; the many problems of missile defense; technologies for verifying compliance with treaties banning nuclear tests; and most controversially, during the Vietnam War, a system of computer-linked sensors that became the precursor to the electronic battlefield.
Membership
Jason members all have security clearances and consist of physicists, biologists, chemists, oceanographers, mathematicians, and computer scientists. They are selected for their scientific brilliance, and over the years, have included eleven Nobel Prize laureates and several dozen members of the National Academy of Science.
The following is a list of members, past and present, who have been publicly identified as Jasons or whose names appear as authors on Jason studies. Since not all study authors are members of Jason, and since Jason does not give out its membership list, the only way to verify the following list is to ask the individual Jasons.

There's nothing secret at all about a group which there's wikis about, which suggests to me that if this article is that inaccurate from the get go its either a pack of lies, make believe or misdirection.

Lol, seems reasonable. A bit harsh of a name but most definitely captures the usual tendency for conspiracy theories to try to encompass everything by being vague in an attempt to be right. I don't think all conspiracy theories show this, but a fair number do. A good example is the 2012 end of the world theory. They would say that the world is going to end on 2012. Then there are all these different possibilities of how it might end ranging from black holes to religious end of times. Then, when nothing actually happened, they said well really they just meant that the myan calendar would end. This is seriously what someone told me one time. All I could think is I wish I could live in my own little fantasy world. I might not choose my fantasy world to be a doomsday scenario though. Maybe something involving me as king of the world. Oh wait, I'm not schizophrenic......never mind.....lol.

I can't comment on the dynamics between posters. Just wanted to say that I find conspiracy theories interesting. However I quit reading about them nearly a year ago and my life has been WAY better. I think there is a lot of truth to the mind control aspect but I have concluded it is better to focus on what I can change. I get concerned when I hear someone delving too deep. Life can be complicated enough and the need to find out more and dig deeper could separate the person from relationships of mutual value.
I can't see I would be invited into any secret society as I don't fair well in groups. Plus I would be an irritating person to have around as obviously I would point out errors, such as immoral aspects of their dastardly plans. So, I reckon this thing has to play out. Nah, even if wholly true all the theories have the same element - to create fear, which is too irrational and suspicious in itself for me to lean towards.
So saying, being a person with much light, I am hoping things do kick off and my abilities develop into super powers.

The factors that make life good operate on different levels and timeframes
So lets say that you are hungry and you come across some bananas on a railway line. You sit eating the bananas on the railway track enjoying the sun on your face....life is sweet....there's nothing to think about except your immediate problem which is hunger and you have managed to solve that for the time being
However because you are not paying attention to events further afield you are unaware of the train that is hurtling towards you
There are events hurtling towards us all
Now on my own i can't do anything about that and neither can you on your own
But if everyone is aware of those events then together as a society we CAN do something
If we do not do anything then we'll enjoy our bananas until we're squashed
Knowing about the train coming does produce some fear yes but it can be managed and dealt with but it doesn't create the terror that comes from the sudden and unannounced arrival of the reality train
