Racism is an uncomfortable and difficult topic that always incites anger. It is important that these conversations are had anyway because although corruption will always exist somewhere, peaceful societies can and do exist when the midset of the society as a whole changes. Denial of the things that make you uncomfortable is not a solution, scapegoating is not a solution, and stereotyping is not a solution. With that being said, people have freedom of speech and thought therefore if someone wants to be racist then fine, but why do you deny/hide it, play a game of semantics, downplay the significance of the damage done? The Boston bombers, snipers, school shooters, and bulk of serial rapist and murders are not minorities. Thank god they did not live in places like Missouri and Florida because they would have never been caught based on america's apparent hoodie and baggy pants phobia.
What we learn from slavery and racism in America and other parts of the world is the propensity for violence is in all of us; we are all responsible for our actions and those actions are not attributed to race. We send a man to the moon and look at sub-atomic particles but we don't grasp that a person who robbed you, raped you, punched you, did not do it because of their race. C.R.I.M.I.N.A.L.I.T.Y. is the word that needs to be studied, understood, and debated on tv if anyone wants to actually be safe in their neighborhood. This segues into what posters like KORG were saying. If people are tired of hearing the word racism it should be because they are tired of hearing about another incident in their country, so stand up, call it out, stomp it out, and let people know you have zero tolerance to ignorance and will judge every person by the character the present so they should think about how they carry themselves. Profiling means to make this your responsibility. You will be wrong most of the time and the actual criminals will never be caught. Not to hijack this thread but governments themselves are very criminal (not conspiracy theories) and "petty" racism is a good distraction.

So what you all are suggesting is that the municipalities on the mainland will bleed the country dry so the military states of the territories will come and take over the country for themselves? Can you cite historical examples for consideration?
I popped in and read some of the lasts posts. I am surprised no one is talking about the recent murder performed by a police officer.

- Black drivers (12.3%) were about three times as likely as white drivers (3.9%) and about two times as likely as Hispanic drivers (5.8%) to be searched during a traffic stop in 2008.
I don’t think that anyone is denying the officer took it beyond acceptable limits by shooting a man in the back 8 times while he was fleeing.
There is still some question as to what took place right before the shooting…but that hardly makes what transpired after reasonable.
Why are we having so many cops jumping to deadly force should be the real question here.
Was it racially motivated…maybe…it’s still unclear what was going through the officer’s head.

It isn’t because there are more criminals…the data shows how many people are innocent that are being stopped.
So tell me why the cops are fucking with minorities more?
Interesting take. I believed from the start the Ferguson incident was likely justified. As it turns out I was correct as far as the public knows. This recent incident though I believe is a clear case why there needs to be screening before anyone is given a gun and sent out into public to protect the public. I think the guy was simply a murderer at heart to begin with. If he didnt become a cop I bet he would have been a serial killer.
People see what they want.No matter your take on the Michael Brown shooting, you didn’t answer my question.
According to the statistical data…not just in New York, but in many parts of this country, minorities are being singled out.
Why is that you think?
People see what they want.
Beyond that its the gang mentality. This helped humans survive in a hostile environment but...unchecked it does the exact opposite.
No. Gang mentality is a human thing. Please explain?
Are you inferring that all minorities act with a gang mentality?
Are they not all individual thinkers?
I could probably bounce that back at you inferring that Fox News viewers are the victims of mass hysteria.
No. Gang mentality is a human thing.
I have to step back my friend…no politics for a few days…I gotta relax my body and let some tension go…I can’t debate with you for a while as even small amounts of it are being detrimental to my overall health right now.
I believe that we as humans can rise above such mentalities.
IMO more people on this earth want to live peacefully, than those who stir discontent.
We can discuss further in a few days.
Thanks.
