Lol I'm not engaged in a debate and I'm not trying to convince you or anyone else of anything. But I am thinking in images sans governmental structures. We don't need leaders or political systems to be decent fucking human beings and help our brothers and sisters that need help. That goes for times of crisis and the normal times when we take things for granted. :poutingcat:

So I'm hearing that the US is seeing this virus hit a larger percentage of young adults than other countries have experienced. This may be only due to the fact that we still have an under reported number of cases in general (thanks trump for delaying all those testing kits and the results for those who can get them) or perhaps in the US we have more young adults living with underlying conditions either being treated or undetected, OR, the virus is starting to mutate already.

Not good news by any means.

The world's busiest theme park just closed down to prevent spreading... but apparently this poor guy was among them, presumably shedding the virus to thousands.
WTG Disney... so glad you shut down, but why did you announce it three days in advance prompting everyone to flock to the "final days" verses simply locking up immediately?

No results back on my daughter's test. She was told Friday (thanks trump) or Monday if not by then. She's feeling better, still has a wicked cough.

My condition is pretty much par for course. Something going through me, but no major issues as of the moment. Fingers crossed.

Its probably due to underlying conditions.

I think the Average American has more underlying health issues due to people avoiding the doctors due to cost of insurance etc.

If more young people have complicating health issues that would explain why more young people are dying.

Preventative healthcare is important.
 
So thought this was interesting. In addition to the upset of daily life, our fur babies are also impacted. Normal vet visits are put on hold and emergencies are still bound to pop up. The local vet has put a policy into place that I appreciate.

In the spirit of keeping both our staff and clients safe during this challenging time, we have made a few adjustments to our daily routine that will allow us to continue to serve you and your pet safely. We appreciate your patience as we request the following:

1. We ask that you please call ahead and pay for food and medication over the phone to minimize time in our waiting area.
2. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, please call when you arrive and one of our staff members will bring you immediately to an exam room.
3. If you are sick, please attempt to find someone else to bring your pet for his/her visit to avoid exposing others. If that is not possible, we will send a staff member in personal protective gear to your car to retrieve your pet while asking you to stay in the car during the exam. The doctor will then go over instructions over the phone.
4. Please have only one person bring your pet in for the exam to help us maintain the "6 feet" rule between individuals.

As mentioned in a previous post, we have increased our disinfection protocols, including disinfecting the stylus for our credit card machine after each transaction. We have also removed all food items from our waiting area temporarily to reduce risk of transmission. By limiting people in the waiting area, we hope to further mitigate the risk.

Although the advent of this public health crisis may create small inconveniences over the next few weeks, please know that we are doing our best to continue to serve you and and your pet while keeping everyone safe. We appreciate your continued trust in us and look forward to resolution in the coming weeks.
