Should we regulate Capitalism? Absolutely I'm not saying the current system is perfect and doesn't need tweaks.

Hell, some Social Policies are a good idea. The Nordics show what a good blend of Capitalism with Social policies can do.

However to drop Capitalism entirely is further than ANY Social Democractic country has ever gone. And not a good idea.

Again, any new system which doesn't have the politial flaws of Socialism or the moral flaws of Capitalism I will embrace it. I'm not smart enough to come up with a better option but when someone does, I will support it.

Oh my. You're sick? :( I know ginger is expensive there but maybe people haven't hoarded it yet. Stay away from ibuprofen just in case. Stick with paracetamol and chlorphenamine.

No no, not sick that way. Just asthma that is only well controlled with an inhaler the insurance will not cover ($600 a pop) so they have me on the next best thing that is "good enough" in their eyes. Have a slight cold or just my normal tree pollen allergies on top of that.

This is why people sounded the alarm once it became clear that this was no common cold or flu, what worries me is that after the first wave there won't be enough to get through the second or third wave and we are left in a cluster fuck without any support. Governments can only print so much before it begins to lose value and the lack of preparation in the west and other first world nations is alarming. The CCP should be held accountable for saving face and misleading the world into a false sense of security.

Third. how did the Soviet Union put Rockets into Space? Sergei Korolev. This man was a hero right? Actually he had to be dragged out of Gulag where he was imprissioned. He also died young because of possible complications after being in said Gulag.

Dictatorships don't respect science, and the RARE instances they do, its because they want weapons or superiority over a foe.

Democracy allows Science to florish in many directions. Dictatorships tend to silence science they don't like (See also the Great Firewall of China).

Also the Soviet Union is a perfect example of how a country that followed Socialist ideas became rulled by a single man, So did China. And Veitnam. And North Korea.

Social Democracy is fine but it still uses Capitalism. See the Nordic Countries, they are all still very Capitalist despite using Socialist programs.

If someone comes up with a superior version of Capitalism with none of the drawbacks of pure Socialism I will welcome it. Until they, hypothetical non-exisitance possibilities are no good to the real world.

I dont and didnt wanted to argue, I just want to point out the potential traps.
I wasnt defending dictatorships in a single line. The criticism of capitalism does not means a defense for dictatorships or any stuff like that. Thats a common trap. It also doesnt imply Im defending communism. Im also in favor for Nordic systems for the moment, but, really, humanity is in need for something better.

This wanting for a superior version of capitalism, like it has to be capitalism, and the entire rejection of anything different, as "hypothetical non-exisitance possibilities that are no good", is danger. Im just trying to point out the traps.

Things sound good though! At least considering the circumstances. That deserves a yay!

I'm well! I've had a horrible headache all day though. The I work with that coughed on me and called in sick was back to work today (the very next day!) He told me he has been vomiting a lot. I guess that doesn't sound like covid, but he's still a piece of shit. :)
