Heard of NOvember: A Month of No Socialising?

I love you so much

We were just socializing in a thread about not socializing.

It's a good thing its still October, otherwise this would be extra ironic.

Yeah, I've tried googling it twice, without exerting more than 3 minutes efforts both times, and the closet thing I get is things like spending November as a month dedicating to saying NO to various things, namely:

I.e. smoking, sugar, fat.

...Particularly as some way of compensating for the indulging over Christmas, and as a premature band-aid to hide the fact that over December people will be gorging themselves before the New Year where they can make new goals and pretend that they're going to fulfill them.

It seems like a non-religious version of lent...

No where, except from the random INFJ on Google+ did I find out about saying NO to socialising. It seems simply like an excuse for pre-established anti-social behaviours (which by no means do I succumb too... lol) under the pretext of being a person of 'self control'.

Although now that I think of it, traditionally Advent - which includes part of November, 40 days leading into Christmas - was a time in which Christians abstained or fasted in part, in preparation for Christmas. So perhaps it's a vestige of that.

@Night Owl
sorry for derailing. I was sucked into this against my better judgment.
I will refrain and go back to the above preoccupation with no further offense,

Sorry I can't like this post. As I don't like posts I don't agree with. Ergo, I always appreciate a good tangent. All things are connected. Tangents are the spice of life :D

But thank you so much for your consideration, that is worth more than a like! :)

Thank you for your hospitality and understanding and compassion. I mean...it's humanly impossible not to adore this:

NOvember

Supposedly you spend the month saying 'NO thank you' to all social invites, social media and instead do spontaneous things or spend time at home, by yourself or with family.

You mean living my life as I normally do? Nonuary, Nobrurary, Norch, Nopril, Noay, Noune, Noly, Nogust, Noptember, Noctober, Nopvember, Nocember
