INFJ Movies

Don't remember if it was mentioned in this thread or not but... The Unforgiven

I don't really see how movies can be a psychological type, but I will say that a lot of the movies being called INFJ seem to be really girly or like sentimental pap.

Pay It Forward is actually one of only a very few movies that I aggressively despise, and is pretty much my go-to film whenever someone asks me to pick a worst-ever. I seriously think that Nazi propaganda and gay porn have more artistic value.

That said, I recently saw a film called 'Into The Wild' and I thought it was incredible. A little syrupy, but still a great film for anyone who is kinda selfish, thinks that society is BS, and wants to get away from it all.

One of my favorite movies. I don't know if there's anything INFJ about loving Clint Eastwood's Westerns, but I'm an enormous fan. Used to have a huge poster of him from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly in my room.

Also, if you liked Unforgiven, you ought to watch High Plains Drifter. Not as good, but still great in its own way. Classic Eastwood.

I think a lot of his movies like The Outlaw Josey Wales and Pale Rider and well... nearly all of them, also portray the standard INFJ/INFP fantasies of getting even and making things right. He also plays a very low-key character is most of them, so it's easy to figure out where he's coming from :)

Any of Nolan's films-- because there is so much food for thought. It's like sex for my mind.

Nightmare before christmas is to me a puppet romance between an ENTP and an INFJ... XD
I really loved A Chinese Ghost Story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzgdckocmrQ
Lady in the Water
The Holy Mountain is a highly symbolic movie. I can't say if it's INFJy in particular but I found it compelling.
Pi is more T i suppose but I liked it http://youtu.be/zQYYGwYTPuY

Garden State, Invictus, and 500 Days of Summer, I think, all deal really well with the Ni-Fe dichotomy, and all have protagonists who are at least NF, if not full-out INFJs. (For instance, I've heard Tom Hansen described as INFP) Also, they're possibly my three favorites, so...

I don't know how it's possible to look like a stop motion puppet though...
Good point. :D ...Yet somehow it can be done. ;)
I've been told I'm like Sally too. And I did have a huge crush on Jack when the movie came out. This cartoon artist I met once in a bar that I shared this info with actually thought it was so weird he incorporated it into his comic and I appeared as the protagonists new love interest who had a pumpkin fetish and in order to impress her the protagonist wore a carved out pumpkin on his head for a while.

...but I may be projecting too. I'm seeing INFJ everywhere now... The old lady who has way too many cats and talks to herself at the supermarket ....INFJ! Wino passed out behind the buss stop... possible INFJ in a Se-inferior grip! I look at the eggplants at the produce stand...they are like the INFJs of the vegetable kingdom! ...and I'm typing puppets now... all this means I've been at home too long. ;D

In any case...It's a super charming movie! :)

Man of Steel. Which by the way, as my coworker pointed out yesterday, has a third trailer out now. Can't wait to see it. The movie is just one big metaphor and it's awesome. Now that I think about it...if you ask many people about this movie you will get mixed responses that paint the PERFECT picture of how someone would describe an INFJ.

HELL YEAH Pan's Labyrinth!

I will throw in these (probably repeats, but oh well):

Inception
The Matrix Trilogy (especially the first movie)
A Beautiful Mind
Mud (it is a little bit out there but superb acting and story line all around)

*nods* I really enjoyed Mud. Totally full of hate for women, but pretty fun none the less.
