Because I want to let everyone discuss the (geo)political implications in the other thread and this one is my kind of off-shoot discussion of it.
Some background. This video references some of the alignments happening this month including the full moon today (1/3) which coincided with this operation:

And from it we learn that there is a big triple planet alignment (this came up in the earthquake video as well though discussed in a different context) which just happened to align with the full moon earlier today and the moon in the full moon alignment just happened to align with the sun in the United States national chart (On July 4th, the sun is at 13 degrees of Cancer.) Another write up on the full moon with some more detail is here.

In fact the full moon chart looked like this



and supermiposing it against the USA chart we get this 'synastry':



where the inner wheel is the US and the outer wheel is today's full moon. Full moons are about culminations and the culmination in this one was something having to do with the US as the sun and moon in aligned exactly with the US sun and on top of this we also have Venus conjunct Mars providing more opposition and more of an urge to act. (The Sun is also conjunct Mars very closely here which is initializing a new Sun-Mars synodic cycle. We had interesting things happen as a result of the last two Sun-Mars alignments since Oct 8, 2021.) So this is why the first video mentions this alignment having to do with the US and featuring heads of state being highlighted, although as we see the astrologer in this one focused on Russia while we ended up dealing with Venezuela. Not to worry - Putin's sun is at 14 degrees of Libra being closely squared by this full moon so the guess is not entirely off-base.

There will be different opinions on the operation and its success and meaning though I'll just focus on a couple of points here:

1. This represents an effective violation of international law (nor is it the first one in the last few years)
2. This action occurred during a relatively mild portion of the month with only this this trio of planets participating in the full moon. The part of the month from January 18th onward is more intense astrologically as is the entire month of February which follows it;

It is the first of these points that is the really important one as one of the expected effects on Pluto changing signs has been the beginning of a process of dismantling of our existing system of governance (and international law would seem to be one of the last pillars remaining, another one arguably is central banks) which would manifest in a variety of ways including by more and more actors "opting out" of the system over time as one of the initial changes. I've attached a paper from a couple of years ago with some longer-term guesses as to what we could see in the future (feedback welcome) which seemed reasonable given the kinds of alignments we would be getting. The view in this paper is optimistic since I have faith we will achieve some of the positive things being forecast though others are less optimistic even though they see some of the same patterns and sort of types of events happening.

Anyway, today's events are falling in line with expectations and are affirming some of these astro patterns. It will be interesting to see how the next 3-4 months will develop though it looks like things are getting quite dynamic quite early so that should make the later part of this month and the month of February quite memorable.

Yep, you nailed it. We have another union we can look at to see how it's doing as a comparison as well. The other interesting bit here is that this won't work now because of the transits but it may well have in the past.

I believe you're correct on both accounts. There is some strategic sense for the US to combine with Canada and Greenland. When POTUS first floated that proposal I though he either was joking or had gone mad. But then I looked at a map of the earth from the viewpoint of the North Pole (below). Greenland is a territory of Denmark, but they don't have the resources to develop it. And it's a net loss on their economy as they subsidize It's civil infrastructure for a tiny population. The U.S. has the means to develop it. On the other hand, the U.S. government is barely able to govern itself now, let alone a massive American Union. As a curious side note, my VPN shows connected in the U.S. via Iceland Is our government not telling us something?

At work we had this curious incident of a team working on our SAP ERP complaining that the google speed test was showing them connected through a slow/low bandwidth link and when we investigated it turned out the connection was going out from CO to the transatlantic cable and then bouncing through the UK and back.. it was odd to see and they didn't do anything about this for some time..

Yep, that is one of the points made in that pdf in the OP though it is not just the US, only in our case this was sort of our MO going back so we have some rehashing of existing ideas. The same is happening everywhere and in some places the rule of law is already collapsing.

Getting to be obvious that this year could be more of a roller coaster than 2020 was.

Yep this one has several high-powered periods in it especially right at the start (the next one is coming 10 days from today) so it is going to be a fiery one at least in metaphorical terms.

Briefly on what happened in 2020 - we had something called a Saturn-Pluto conjunction which hit early in the year (Jan 12) and was preceded by a very potent lunar eclipse. The eclipse interpretation is here still and the aspect looked like this:



With the alignment exact on degree 22 of the sign of Capricorn. We had at least two after-events following on the heels of this conjunction after January of 2020. The first was at the start of spring in that year when Mars and Jupiter reached the degree of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction and this immediately caused the worldwide pandemic lockdowns we all experienced:



The second such event was when Venus and Mars made a conjunction at 22 Capricorn on February 24, 2022 which was the date the war in Ukraine started. Both of these events are direct descendants of the alignments from early 2020.



As it is we are right now headed into a period when Venus and Mars are again in Capricorn (today both at around 18 degrees) and they will conjunct very close to the degree they hit back in 2022 though this time we also have a couple of other synods aligning with this.

This year looks wild because of a different aspect, Saturn conjunct Neptune which will come in about 5 weeks time and will arrive after a major eclipse just like the one in 2020 although the meaning here is quite different and the sign (Aries) also has a rather different meaning vs what we saw in 2020.

Hi again, good to see some familiar names. Well I dropped the ball with Saturn conjunct Pluto for 2020 so thought I'd try a bit harder this time around for Saturn-Neptune and all the wackiness around it.

Right now we are in the middle of a procession of planets making conjunctions to Pluto (Mercury is lined up at the moment) which is kind of making everyone feel very strongly about all sorts of things though it could make one of our leaders blow a gasket along the way so kind of watching that space a bit. The 27th is the day that worries me the most since Mars and will Pluto will be conjunct on that day and I am not a fan of this aspect wrt world events though we'll see how it goes.


Currently: Sun-Mercury cazimi in progress with both Sun and Mercurt about to conjunct Pluto over the next 36 hours (ouch) before Mars reaches it in 6 days time

Exactly. And what's weird with this one is that when we had things go ballistic in that region last June Saturn and Neptune were conjunct at 0-1 Aries with Jupiter changing signs around June 6-7 to immediately square the duo which coincided with the I think it was called 12 day war which lasted until Jupiter moved out of orb. We are about to have the first two go back to 0 Aries during February so it could be a revisit of what happened then though I sincerely hope not. The other bit about Saturn-Neptune is it's been called the Russian conjunction due to the political system changing there whenever there has been one of these (last one was 1989) so we are looking at that potential also again in February. And also at this time Pluto will reach 4-5 Aqua which seems to be where the PRC has a couple of planets in their chart which could ignite something there, again in this February-March time frame.

Yeah this is making me nervous all right.

The WEF has been crazy, I don't know if it's because of what aligns with the date they always schedule it or the combination of everything but things are clearly getting out of control pretty rapidly

Since February 2026 has been mentioned a few times in this thread here are some of the more significant astrological events happening during this month.



Saturn-Neptune conjunction

Saturn and Neptune came close to forming an exact conjunction in the summer of 2025 which brought us some confusing and disturbing events at the time. This occurred as Jupiter entered Cancer and immediately squared Saturn-Neptune all at degrees 0-1 of the signs they were occupying (Saturn-Neptune at 0-1 Aries vs Jupiter at 0 Cancer.)


Saturn-Neptune is another important alignment like Saturn-Pluto although with a rather different meaning. Where Saturn-Pluto (in Capricorn) was about supercharging structures and institutions of governance and hyper-consolidation of power this ongoing Saturn-Neptune conjunction has been about dissolving these same structures and breaking down long-held established beliefs about how things are or should be.

The conjunction has been taking place in two different regions of the zodiac where a part of it has been occupying the last degrees of Pisces (tail end of the zodiac) while its initial and final partile alignments occur in the first degrees of Aries at the very start of the zodiac. This is one reason this alignment has been interpreted as bringing an end to the old structures while ushering in something entirely new which we have not seen before. This alignment is one which aids Pluto in Aquarius (since November 2024) in its own efforts to bring about a new system of world governance based on equal-opportunity access to goods and resources and which is quite a reversal from the old top-down (or trickle-down) model which Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn brought to extreme levels since their conjunction in the sign in January of 2020.

On a personal level Saturn conjunct Neptune can bring a deep and somewhat ethereal sense of disenchantment and disillusionment about ourselves and/or the world which can feel at once anguished and overwhelming. It is important not to give into these feelings no matter how tempting it is to do so. The aspect can create very heavy depressive psychic imagery which may convince some people that life is not living or similar and it is important that we tend to any people in our lives affected in such a manner to help them get through the times. (The situation will improve rapidly by March 2026 in terms of this aspect.)

The teleology or ultimate meaning of this aspect is that it is about dissolving the boundaries and foundations which were established previously in order to give a higher power access to what these walls have contained thus far though of course this process is unpleasant and may even appear threatening to some, especially those who have invested heavily in the old order.



This aspect can create strange fascinations with certain topics and may lead to temporarily warped or odd beliefs which may lead to a temporary bump in cults or cult-like structures which will fade once the aspect dissipates after the spring months of 2026.

This conjunction is a big deal for the United States because it lands nearly exactly on the IC (4th house cusp) of the USA Sibly chart which is an important point for domestic issues in the country. In a person’s chart the IC refers to one’s home and family so in a national chart this meaning may be modified to mean the homeland. Saturn-Neptune on the IC has led to some speculation about possible disintegration of civil society in the US during and following this alignment. In any case this alignment will affect the US in a particular powerful way.

Another country we can expect to be significantly impacted is Russia. Political leadership changes in Russia have closely tracked with this particular aspect when we follow it backwards through the 20th century:

• The Saturn-Neptune conjunction of 1989 brought down the Berlin Wall and along with Pluto crossing the Soviet sun that year the end of the Soviet Union. The last hit of that conjunction was on Nov 13, 1989 only 3 days after some of the most memorable events of this time;
• The Saturn-Neptune conjunction of 1952-1953 brought the death of Joseph Stalin and the birth of Vladimir Putin. It also interestingly coincided with the McCarthy era in the USA;
• The Saturn-Neptune conjunction of 1917 brought us the beginning of the Bolshevik Revolution which would ultimately lead to the formation of the Soviet Union.

While it is difficult to predict the exact nature of the changes about to occur there is a widespread expectation that changes will be occurring as a result of the conjunction.



February 17 Solar Eclipse

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction will be preceded by a solar eclipse just three days before it goes exact with the eclipse happening on Feb 17. (If you have any planets around 26-29 degrees of a fixed sign in your chart this eclipse could be somewhat difficult to navigate.)

The major theme of this eclipse is the civil unrest indicated by the square between the new moon and Uranus which also rules the new moon occurring in the sign it rules. With Uranus in Taurus ruling mainly those who work with the earth (such as farmers) this could very well be another farmer protest although Taurus has associations with banking and monetary systems as well so it could be because of some event involving the banking system. The new moon in Aquarius suggests the unrest will be due to a lack of fair or equal access to resources (with square to Uranus in Taurus) so this may be related to some transnational trade deals or similar.



Pluto squaring the MC of the Maastricht Treaty implementation chart

There is one more event to consider and this is the square from Pluto to the Maastricht implementation chart for the European Union.




Pluto is rapidly approaching the exact square to the Midheaven (MC) in the chart along with the Sun and Mercury as of today (January 22) signaling some kind of serious challenge to the status quo represented by this chart coming into force. This is a highly destabilizing influence for the institutions of the European Union and may lead to structural disintegration of these organizations when this transit is taken together with the upcoming Saturn-Neptune conjunction as well as Uranus trine Pluto which will be hitting these same degrees later in the year.

Well dang

I don't know if this ties into the planetary stuff but it looks mean and dangerous and like it might just be starting up

so the two events for today are
(1) Neptune changed signs and moved into Aries (Saturn-Neptune might be an infectious thing among other things but not sure)
(2) Mars conjunct Pluto which keeping an eye on the news for though that'd be something explosive if anything and short-term

honestly not sure how if this ties into the news but that's scary. One more thing to keep an eye on over the next few weeks..
