We all crave purpose. It's been said that purpose cannot exist if God does not exist. And music can be a deeply transcendent experience, especially for INFJs like ourselves. All artistic types can indeed "feel" (for lack of a better term) the significance of a song. And if music is transcendent, and if you can't have purpose without God, then religious songs may be one of the most meaningful things that a person can experience in their day-to-day lives.

So, share your religious songs here.

I'll start, but it is hard to know how to kick things off. I suppose I shall start with a song that I believe many INFJs can identify with--at least the core concept of feeling like an outsider.

List the name of the band and the title of the song before you link to the song.

Theocracy - "Flicker"

Firgured I would do another one as I have been listening to this band a lot lately.

A Hill to Die Upon - "O Death"

What is this that I can’t see,
with ice cold hands takin’ hold of me?
When God is gone and the Devil takes hold,
Lord have mercy on my soul.
Well, I am Death, none can excel.
I open the door to Heaven or Hell.
“O, Death,” someone might pray,
“could you call me another day?”

O, Death…spare me.

The children prayed and the preacher preached.
Time and mercy are out of your reach.
I’ll fix your feet ‘til you can’t walk;
I’ll lock your jaw ‘til you can’t talk;
I’ll close your eyes so you can’t see.
This very hour come and go with me.
I am Death come to take the soul,
leave the body and leave it cold,
to draw the flesh off of the frame,
Dirt and worm both have a claim.

O, Death…spare me.

O, death, please consider my age.
Please don’t take me at this stage.

My wealth is all at your command
if you would remove your icy hand.
Death is moving upon your soul,
All like to me, you know.
No wealth, no land, no silver, no gold,
nothing satisfies me but your soul.

O, death…spare me.

This song is kinda fun.

The Final Witness - "Coronation"

Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all
Creation speaks, confirms reversal of the fall
Blood-dipped linens rising forth to judge with mouth of steel
Creator God in flesh is risen, all of Earth will kneel

Kneel!

Arrayed before Him, in life and death, great and small
Everyone will behold Him, The Holy One of Israel!
There He Is! The Son of Man, heir of David's line
He will judge every soul, every sin, every crime

He has seen
All that is and what will be
Unbelieving tongues confess in fear because He holds the keys

Cosmic treason
Cosmic justice

Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all
Creation speaks, confirms reversal of the fall
