US > Iran conflict begins

My sense is this:

The United States cannot afford to continue bombing. Not to any end which results in regime change.

The lockdown and control of the Strait of Hormuz will not be allowed to stand. Not because of the oil, though there is that. The concern is the disruption of markets such that the petrodollar is rendered null and void—a calamity for the United States.

So, boots on the ground. A nation surrounded by mountains. Many will be lost, but the administration will only offer lip service, and no fucks whatsoever.

The talk floated today about reinstitution of the draft, but no need to register, because the conscripts will be drawn from the DOGE-sourced Palantir records. They already know who is good to go. Outside of ~74% being deemed unfit due to obesity.

What a Mess,
Ian

We just had a regime change in Syria. The Syrian Ba'athist Party was dissolved. It may be too early to tell how good/bad that is, but most people think tossing Assad for change to be positive. Regime change can come from different directions. Be careful who takes their place.

Freedom and change aren't free. The people may still rise. Sooner or later, most of the people will understand. This has been needed for a long time. I hope the world can make good lemonade out of so many lemons. Maybe they are coming to help control the nuclear material until something can be decided. Lot of possible energy there to be wasted on nukes.

Iran has been preparing for this for a while. This is a suicide mission to US forces.

Meanwhile:

If China does this, the US will be stretched thin, fast. No ordinary American will benefit from this. Only the rich will.

The United States has had accumulating issues be unresolved since its birth. American society is a poisoned womb that develops vampires who destroy Earth's ecosystem for profit. They let criminals get away scot-free when have enough money. Since American society has been successfully herded with bread and circus as distraction without an adequate education system that promotes accountability, they're zombified consumers more or less. George Carlin made fun of Americans for decades when he was alive. But that wasn't enough to make most of them grow a spine against corruption. Now, the United States is barely holding on. Can't say I blame people for leaving the United States permanently to dodge a bullet that keeps getting bigger if they can afford it.
