In the Roman Catholic Church, he is considered the Vicar of Jesus Christ. He's not exactly a minor figure.
Coincidentally, what he is saying reflects exactly, word for word, what is happening in here. On both sides.
I was reluctant to share it, given the climate. But I believe that at this point, the correlation between God and gender identity drops to zero. Anyone who continues to foment gender or religious radicalism, in my eyes, only wants to feed the feud.

Anyone who claimed that the Roman Catholic Church is unhealthy knows nothing about my church and is speaking purely from hearsay. I would stake my life on it. You can know all the prayers in the world, but if you don't know how to apply the precepts of Christ...

But I have the impression that many of us are sinners, and anyone who thinks that believing in God makes you a bigot is literally proving to be a bigot themselves, because they see their own point of view as the only valid one. Doesn't imposing one's perspective at all costs remind you of fascism?

1) I'm not Catholic and I have very good reasons for that. As such, the Pope has zero authority over me.
2) The Pope is right that not all morality is based on sexual ethics.
3) Sexual ethics remain relevant because of the way they have eroded the nuclear family, leading to plummeting birthrates across the globe.
4) I am pretty sure the Pope does not condone homosexuality or other sexually deviant identities. He just doesn't focus on them as much as other Christians do.

This is truth, right here. Only to Catholics do the popes words hold any power whatsoever. Jesus is crystal clear on the topic and this is what differentiates Catholicism.

The pope is not supposed to be an idol. That would be idolatry, which Jesus condemns. Only God is to be idolized. I agree that we are to listen to Jesus words and not pope Leos.

No no no… he is not saying his view is superior. He is saying God’s view on how we are to be behave is. These instructions come to us in a handy manual called the bible. Those with faith believe it’s words, those without do not.

This is where Satan has twisted morality as we see it in the world today, where everyone who believes the word of God set forth in the bible and swims against the popularity of sin is labeled phobic.

I have said it for years, the bible has predicted this in Mathew, Revelation, and many other books. Evil will become normal. Right will become wrong ( prejudice, bigoted, phobic, intolerant ) - fill in the blanks.

That’s no stoning, nor obsessive. The reasons were outlined far back in this thread as to why many people are vocal about it. Such as the example John gave.. of the little girls in the locker room. Schools indoctrinating now days, instead of just doing their job - teaching. Forcing people who don’t subscribe to gender ideology to bow to the pronouns and participate in the delusions of others?

It's an issue I care about because I think it's unnatural/perverted.

I'm not obsessed with it and I have no idea where this accusation comes from... I originally made a wordless post just linking an article and people made it about everything except the article. I can't be blamed for that, surely?

The heart of the Christian message is solidarity with those who are marginalized or judged. Christ was incredibly harsh with those who used religion to oppress, but infinitely welcoming toward those considered sinners. As for the manipulation of the concept of gender identity by a certain culture,that is a whole different story and I agree that things must stay clear.
If they are gay ecc it's not my problem, I cannot judge them. It's between them and God.
Christianity builds bridges; it does not divide.

Jesus says, when the Apostles say, "This could have been sold to help the poor," he says, "You will always have the poor; you will not always have me." Basically, Jesus was saying he is more important than helping the poor. That doesn't mean we don't help the poor. It means there exists something about Jesus that is better than helping the poor. This is a message that is offensive to our Western liberal world that is obsessed with finding more and more victims and never have a finish line on when we finally have made it in our pursuit of social justice.
