  • Hahaha make the best of it man, if I could resist the shiny buttons last night, you can tonight! I haven't had fish n chips in a long time.
I absolutely know how you're feeling. I've been through similar situations with roommates. It's hard living with other people a lot of the time. Hopefully things get better!
    Sure. Count me in. =)
And yep, that was my first exposure to it, so I learned it through the school system.
It was oright, rain had stopped when I left my place so that was good. =)

Hopefully you had a good nap?
Sometimes I think of politics as a engeering workflow.

Siamese Cat was describing process diagrams in her process engineering and applying that same diagram makes a lot of sense in politics.

There is a common foundation to start from for influence and mission of a political system, what is valued and what is cherished. Those values should align with what motivates a human to contribute to society and neighbor. Those almost seem like empty words nowadays.

The media is like a feedback loop, today that feedback loop isn't exactly fed by the source of government, the people. Rather, the feedback loop is fed by mega organizations that have one mission, to make money. The well being of people and building knowledge play little to no part in defining what the media portrays.

Human nature ultimately influences politics, but money ultimately influences free market organzations. Media influences human actions. Right now there is extreme dissonance between human nature and media. I supose you could say, in my opinion, that media and free market organizations are influencing humans to act in ways that are not aligning with their nature.

The shining light is the internet, unregulated and ungoverned. THIS is where we can choose from a million differing views and contradicting information, all opinions are free to view, there are no limits as of now.

I am going to be a very staunch defender of unregulated net.

I am not framing my comments very well, but I am just sort of writing down my thoughts as they come out, lol.
We would have epic conversations man. I really enjoy conversations like that. My dad is a staunch conservative and I have epic conversations with him.

I don't really think I fall into an opinion of conservative vs liberal, a plan either works or it doesn't, aspects of both are required.

I intend to read the communist manifesto soon.

Have you read Utopia by Sir Thomas More yet? It is a dry, but short read and gave me a ton to think about, even if I didn't agree with a lot of it.
Ultimately, change can only come through collective knowledge. The internet is the absolute best resource for achieving that. Now we just a way of packaging information in a way that people are willing to receive and can perhaps even be inspired by.

I have actually thought about doing some informative youtube vids on various topics I am studying, just to educate. I would like to accompany them with videos but I am waiting to learn animation or extreme video editing, I might just use images for the time being.
Another question is play. I believe, if you want good morals and good role models, something has to be provided as an option, not necessarily what to play, but resources on how to enjoy life and learning. We have public libraries and public pools, those are a GREAT start! What about other public options, is it even possible without taking too many resources?
I have often thought about a role based distribution within society. It would be a way of choosing a path and being guided completely through the process by the state. The problem is understanding human motivation and design well enough to understand who would be best for what roles and how resource distribution would be managed according to those roles. The details of what resources are provided, how they are provided, and how to deal with role changes would need to be addressed.

This sort of thing would require a massive network of checks and balances. Anything with any sort of state resource distribution requires extensive safeguard against corruption.

Some roles simply aren't as important as others in contrast to human values. Then again, it is arguable that many of those jobs could be automated.

One of the biggest questions is what kind of media is allowed and how do you control it? If you don't keep any checks on it, then the media degrades, if people aren't challenged, they stagnate. More human nature stuff.
    You are awesome. :D

I am really not knowledgeable enough in politics and economics to hold much weight, but here you go:

I think something completely new has to come about. Our environment is unlike anything before in history! Our economic and political fronts influence the entire globe now, not just our homes.

The first aspect to consider is what to do about that, foreign affairs and internal/external economics.
The second aspect is how to stop bleeding debt.
The third aspect is how to bolster internal growth.
The fourth aspect is how to re-introduce.

Right now, economics is the root of everything, that is where the power and all resources come from. What we have doesn't work. Noam Chomsky touches on energy based resource distribution which is very interesting.

I don't think economics is the root though. I believe human nature is the root of everything. Economics is important because it influences human nature efficiently. But if we can find another motivator, something universal, then that takes over.

We have problems with extremes of capitalism and socialism because in one you potentially reward greed, in the other you potentially reward nothing.

One of capitalism's greatest callings is motivation through incentives. Socialism's greatest hurdle is human motivation. I think micro capitalistic incentive inside a socialized framework would have potential to an extent, as long as the resources are enough.

Ultimately science and technology are the answers. People who hoard intellectual property and resources are a problem.

Human conflict is a problem, we have to defend at the same time as advancing, without taking either too far without the other.
With all of those details it is not surprising why teachers hate their jobs.

it is really frustrating, we are SO in the need for a complete socioeconomic change imo. If we don't change, it will be forced on us. Then again, those are hard years for kids, so part of it may never go away.

I know you will really influence those that are willing to hear, once you have a chance.
lol, all of the above, plus enough sleep and enough food to last you the day.

Also, go to bed before you fall off your chair. I can't believe you're still awake.
Sheesh, sounds like a very long day, but okay. We shall give it a try. Am I going to need large amounts of coffee to survive the day?
