It means to laugh loudly and immoderately.
I laugh a lot on varying scales. I'm always somewhere in between a silent chuckle and outright death by cachinnation. Whether it be a random thought or observation, the current situation, or something someone has said or done, I am hard pressed not to find something at least mildly amusing in all of it.
Right now I am laughing at Google's spell check because I know a word it doesn't.
Lol. Not for some of my friends sadly. Oh? What's wrong with your professor? Is he just that boring? And nope, our fall break is like in November. It's pretty much an extra day added onto Thanksgiving. For some reason I thought it'd be a bit longer than that but oh well.
