  • Sorry I have regularly repeated the same things about myself to you, I'm forgetful!! ty for patience
Cheers, that's made me think of a topic (not as obvious as it seems) for a future thread... [files away for later*]. I respect morning robins but night owls are better!
That would be sweet. I can really imagine getting drawn into collections pretty easily and wanting to connect parts of them. I think it's true that how information is presented has a big effect on how people see it and whether or not they want to engage with it. So much information is presented like it's difficult when it's not. It makes it hard to approach and it makes people think that if they try to engage with it and don't understand all of it, it fulfills their idea that it's too difficult for them, and they put it down and go away. That sucks.
That would be really cool. Curation and preservation type work? The archiving type side? My program has been pretty digital, but I would love to do that other side of things, maybe I could do some more courses in future. At the moment I'm thinking a lot about cataloging. I love working with the objects. I've been doing all this cataloging work with this particular collection of original materials that are going to be digitised for access, it's been awesome. They're photographs, I can sometimes look at a photograph for almost an hour trying to figure out everything important about it. It's luxurious and fascinating.
Thank you. I scrubbed and adjusted around 8 individual shelf fixtures across about 150 distinct shelf locations (although it's difficult to count them all at this point), saved non-fiction categories from extinction, and caused sales growth to outperform other more popular store areas massively. By the time I left I was stacking up to 1000 books a day and couldn't keep up to the sales demand. I think I did make my workplace lovely!
I find that so interesting! Scent is such a powerful stimulation for the brain and especially for memory. I hope you're keeping a log...well duh... your blog, lol.
    Thanks!
It’s a lot less painful today!
Didn’t wake up with blood covering my mouth so...I suppose that’s a good thing..hehe.
Did the gum work? I’m assuming it did...you’re so clever!
Thanks!!...It’s getting better, though slowly...I can really feel where they put those screws..ugh.
I just like your way of being and the way you hold yourself. It is admirable. I also love your avatar. It's my favourite avatar on the forum.
What would you say about "Wings of the Dove"? Did it have something interesting to say?
"Turn of Screw" is a really interesting one and I think responses to it are really divided between people who respect the Governess and people who see her as malevolent. (I will refrain from telling you my interpretation which will muck up your experience of reading it)
Someone recommended "In The Cage" to me. I started reading it and I found it very interesting, but I can't stick to anything these days.
Thanks. I love James but haven't read much. I loved "Turn of the Screw" and "Aspern Papers", also loved "Washington Square". I tried reading "What Maisie Knew", I was too young for it, I thought it was making something more complex than it really was and wasn't successful, but I thought I was missing something about it too.
