Yes…I think pain can very constructive and very motivating…it would be beneficial though in cases where the emotional pain cannot be worked through constructively and they are suffering from PTSD for example…I think in cases of a soldier coming home from war - it could save lives otherwise taken by their own hand.
ps re nun studies no need to apologise im pretty sure you were totally correct :-D xoxox
Thanks. I saw a documentary years ago about the shapes of the ventricles in the brains of nuns. Their ventricles were youthfully small and their brain tissue was plushy and well preserved. They didn't have dementia. The sheltered life of stable routines and quiet contemplation, I imagine.
It could be early stages of dementia but I hope not. She has been much the same for as long as I can remember and there are existing psychiatric explanations. I have seen photographs of her brain just a few years ago and at that time that tissue was as plush as a nun's. I hope it's not dementia, that would be very difficult for me to deal with. I'm sorry you're going through it with your mother, I know she is already a problematic person. Thanks for your support. hugs
Hmm, that's a toughie. On one hand, we need humans every so often to feel somewhat normal within ourselves. But on the other hand, it means leaving home, getting dressed, pretending to be happy you're out in public.. Is it worth it? It sounds like your human contact meter is running a little low, perhaps a night amongst fleshy meat sacks would do you some good. I'm here if you need to talk. <3
