Since the beginning of American politics. :smirk: If I have to name any off the top of my head I know of one already Abigail Adams, but this is pretty standard political practice. Look it up. There is nothing sexist about it. Candidates spouses being fair game to judge the politician running has been going on since the beginning and it's considered acceptable because the candidates spouses are the president's confidant who campaign for them and influence them. It is what it is. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I'm disagreeing it's sexist. It's not sexist.

I don't think we are on the same page here with your last line. You're talking about something Mr. Trump said and I'm talking about something Hillary has done in response to President Bill Clinton's rape and sexual assault accusers, to the women who fell for him and slept with him, any woman who stands in the way. I guess I assumed you knew where I was going. This is what I meant:

I could understand someone who doesn't know a lot about either candidate being upset over what Mr. Trump has said as a reason to vote for Hillary, but for hard Hillary supporters? It's hypocritical.

I'm done defending Mr. Trump on this dumb stuff, honestly I think it's frivolous tabloid nonsense with no substance and a waste of time. We are talking about an access Hollywood recording from 11 years ago. I don't care what Hillary did in response to Bill's accusers either. If this was a priority for me obviously I wouldn't be voting for him, but it's not. What is wrong with Hillary character wise is much deeper than this, policy aside so my vote is going to Trump.
 
You seem to have overlooked the fact that Trump as done exactly what he has bragged about doing, You can interpret they "let you" as "consent" but that is just a joke to me, more likely "they don't resist" is what was meant and if you listen to his accusers this is clear. You can talk about hypocrisy if you like. Melania has also accused her husbands accusers of lying (not different than Hillary's response to Bill's accusers) and she said that Trump was "egged on" by Billy Bush implying he was too weak willed to resist the charms of Billy. Yes the Access Hollywood interview was 11 years ago, but do you really think Trump's essential personality over has changed over this timeframe? Those on the right have no problem bringing stuff about about Bill Clinton from 20 years ago or more and so it goes.

I don't care about Trump's p*ssy scandal and I don't care about Clinton's "nuts and sluts" strategy. I don't agree that he's lied and been dishonest more than her at all, but I don't want to bicker about it. :)

That post had everything to do with Trump because that is who you are voting for. By putting her down you are saying that Trump is the better alternative. And that blows my mind!

Nope. My post was fully and completely about Hillary. At no point in my post did I say anyone has to vote for Trump or even that they should. My post is about exactly what was stated. Yes Hillary knows how to work toward progress if its advancing her bank account off corrupt ventures. Good for her bad for the rest of the country. All I know is I dont want a President willing to take a bribe to do anything for the right price or that can be blackmailed. That leaves only one choice at this point.

I am not fond of anyone running for president. But with that being said, Donald is simply completely unqualified to be president. Dictator of a third world country? Possibly. But president of this country? Hell no. Even if you despise Hillary, at least be honest about Donald's qualifications, or lack there of. He is a con artist and showman, driven exclusively by self interest, not to mention he is a pathological liar. Say whatever you will about Hillary, but Donald has the potential to be an unmitigated disaster as president, much worse than Bush Jr. in my opinion. Unlike most people, I am capable of being unbiased because I am apolitical. I don't support anyone. I just think that anyone who honestly believes that Donald would be a good president has been living in a cave. I watched every second of all three debates. He is woefully ignorant, simplistic, inarticulate, immature, petty, vindictive, crass, boorish, rude, dishonest, arrogant, and mean. Nobody can reasonably deny any of these claims if they have been paying attention with an open mind. If it wasn't for the fact that Donald is more charismatic than Hillary, and that she is a boring candidate, this election would be a huge blowout in her favor. Virtually everyone is blinded to their own candidate's faults. Let's be honest here. Hillary is a very weak candidate. She is barely ahead of Donald, which really says something about her. But Donald is by far the worst nominee of a major party in modern American history. My concern is that a Pandora's box has now been opened. With Bush Jr., and then with Palin, and now with Donald, it seems that it is now only a matter of time before this country ends up with a president who is woefully unqualified for the job, not to mention one who has the potential to become a fascist. I am afraid the legacy of Trump will never go away. His supporters will not merely disappear. I wish I were wrong, but this election, no matter how it turns out, could usher in a new era of the cult of personality in American politics reminiscent of third world contries. One day historians may look back and recognize 2016 as the point in American history where we became unhinged as a nation, a point when it became inevitable that our nation would not remain a super power with great potential much longer. If the 2020 or 2024 election is not radically different from this divisive one, it may be too late for a course correction. I wish I were more optimistic these days, but sadly I am not. @dang - I do agree that the cult of personality has taken over in the public's assessment of public figures. It's become too much about how interesting and exciting someone can be vs. how qualified, trustworthy, and credible they are. I don't need someone to be an entertainer to get my vote. Too much flash and not enough substance.

But if there is no "good person" running, this chart is useless. When asked who he is voting for, an economist replied that he is not voting, because both candidates make him sick, but for different reasons. I think he made a valid point. Voting for someone you do not believe in is not necessarily being mature and strategic, but can be considered a way of compromising your integrity and enabling a broken system to continue indefinitely. Neither Donald nor Hillary, in my humble opinion, will change or improve anything substantial for this country. You could even argue, as even some progressives have, that electing Donald could result in a tipping point where by a majority of Americans become fed up and then rise up and demand real change to the federal government and election system. In many ways, even if you are liberal, Hillary is a major compromise, and is like putting a small band aid on our country's problems. She is part of the establishment which has led us to this failed system of governance. She is a symbol of Washington corruption, incompetence, and greed. Not only do Trump supporters hate her, but many Bernie supporters hate her as well. What does she represent? Conservatism? Liberalism? Change? Progress? Standing up to corporations or banks or special interests? Removing government corruption and bureaucracy? Pacifism? Being non-interventionist with regard to foreign disputes which involve combat and violence? Transparency? Consistency? Probably none of the above. Even if you vote for her because you believe her to be the lesser of two evils, that does not mean she deserves to be president. If Hillary were running against even Romney, I think she would lose, just like she lost out to Barry O 8 years ago. She can't win an election unless it involves someone as cartoonishly unqualified as Donald as her competition. And what does that say about her? She couldn't even beat Bernie without DNC help, now the FBI is probably giving her a free pass (for now) to further her cause once again. This should have been the election where everyone came together and rejected the two major parties. We should have found a way to elect a qualified independent candidate who was preferable to all of the current options. If you vote for Hillary or Donald, you are voting for the continuation of a duopoly which screws over everyone except for those in power. United we stand, divided we fall. Or divide and conquer. I am sorry to say that regardless of who wins the White House this week, the citizens of this country will for the most part lose out. I am so tired of these absurd choices. We all need to have higher expectations with regard to our leaders, otherwise we will be led not by the best and the brightest, but by the worst and the stupidest. And we are getting closer all the time. What is happening?
