Mass Shooting of Children - WTF?!?!

If you already know, then why do you need to see video footage, etc?
Go out and DO something about it.

I don't need to see the footage, if anyone needs to see it its you!

I suggested that some sort of independent panel should see these things so that they can't be covered up

The video that the FBI took from the hotel opposite the pentagon that showed the attack should also been seen by an independent panel

I am doing something about it. I'm telling you about it for a start. but i have taken steps i my life to resist the corporations

Honestly, the worst that will come of this is USA gun laws become more like Canada's gun laws, which as far as I can tell still allow you to own semi-automatics, just not ones that fire hundreds and hundreds of hollow point bullets before changing cartridges.

No it is part of a slow descent into neo-fuedalism...this process is being carried out piecemeal

You can't look at this in isolation...look around at all the recent changes to legislation and the attacks on the constitution...these are all happening for a reason

Oh yeah, and you have to be at least somewhat not insane before you can own one.

The colonists who threw off the banker controlled british and then formed the US did so because they got their hands on effective weaponry. The public can't stand up for itself with pop guns

They're not going to bankrupt the gun manufacturers-- it's one of America's biggest industries.

State sponsored arms dealing yes. The US government is the biggest exporter of weapons (and death) around the world

Its not weapons of war that will be cut, its public access to weapons and that is happening for a reason

People will still be able to kill each other, don't worry.

Murder rates are lowest in states with the most relaxed gun laws

The places with the tightest gun laws have the highest murder rate, because gun laws don't take guns out of the hands of criminals they just take guns out of the hands of honest folk who want to be able to0 defend themselves

It is the honest folk that are preyed upon by the higher tier criminal bankers and lower tier small time criminals

Here's a newspaper article of the culture of crime in banking that is being revealed due to the LIBOR scandal. Its these people that the public need to be able to protect themselves from: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/dec/23/banking-year-of-shame-libor

Concerning your comment of people being able to kill: the government are the biggest murderers of all having killed a million people in Iraq alone

Your perspective is completely off on this. If you want to stop death then you need to tackle the cabal running the government

I'm not saying it's true, but it's interesting how different sources with different agendas can produce different figures.

Here's an interesting article:

http://www.governing.com/news/state/mct-gun-violence-research-restricted-by-politics.html

The NRA (obviously not at all a biased organization who totally hasn't been vocal about boycotting even arms manufacturers who were a little concerned about things like escalation and having more guns around) basically intimidated the CDC and helped to get their funding cut because it didn't seem to like what the studies were showing.

The world's highest gun death rate is in El Salvador, where fully automatic weapons are legal, btw.

Hi Justme

I have a slightly different view on the Syria situation to you

Although i would like to see a greater degree of genuine democracy as i would everywhere including my own country i think that the Syria situation is not as black and white as the corporate media would have us believe

There are different groups in Syria who all have their own interests

The 'rebels' are largely composed of mercenaries who ahve been organised, supplied and funded by the CIA. People like Geroge Soros fund revolutions through various bodies such as foundations. Here's a website which talks about the 'top 5 revolutions' he has funded: http://gulagbound.com/12652/top-5-revolutions-backed-by-george-soros/#.UNdOmqxvqt8

One part of the site i disagree with is how it says that he funds 'left wing' organisations....i think this can mislead people because George Soros is not a true socialist. What he wants to see is a centralised government made up of bankers who will control the global economy and he is helping to destroy the soveriegnty of countries to achieve that

So what he wants is state socialism which is what existed in Nazi germany

True socialism is when the workers NOT an elite own and control the means of production and that is most definately not what Soros and his buddies want!

Soros and the corporate gang he is a part of want to topple regimes so that they can open up new markets for their corporations and their central banking system. That way they will impose their will on a country; combined with putting a puppet government made up of a faction that they have funded and helped to power and they will take control of a country

He even runs workshops for revolutionaries to prepare them to go into these countries and foment trouble from within. I kow someone who has attended such a workshop in London

These guys see Syria as a stepping stone to Iran, but attacking Iran could ignite world war three as Iran has allies in Russia and China who do not want to see the US empire push closer to their borders and dominate all the resources in the region such as oil

My hope is that our countries can wean themselves off oil and go renewable but they are still aggressively pursuing oil as part of their global strategy

Happy christmas justme or should i say happy saturnalia!

Joking aside, i hope you have a good holiday man, take care of yourself and all the best for the new year! :)

The gun lobby is saying that its not an issue of gun ownership its an issue of gun laws. the areas with the highest murder rates like LA and new york have the strictest gun controls ie you can't carry them

So if a criminal goes on a spree in those places no one is equiped to deal with it so they are easier targets

So as always its the honest people who become victims

Perhaps you can go over my post you've quoted above and see now what i meant

LA and New York are also the most populous cities overall, so yes, they're probably going to have more murder.

But the highest violent crime rate per 100,000 people is in Detroit, and it's not because of tighter gun laws-- it's because of crack and the economic conditions.

Incidentally, it's also a 'concealed carry' state-- meaning criminals realize that anyone age 21 and older could have a gun at any time.

And if NY's gun laws are preventing 'honest people' from defending themselves then why is the gun murder rate so low?
Wouldn't it be higher, because the 'criminals' aren't afraid to use their illegal guns against a helpless population?

I'm not saying gun laws are responsible either way-- in all likelihood, gun laws are largely irrelevant to everything except gun accidents. Mass shootings tend not to occur in the minds of people rational enough to actively care whether they're going to be facing armed opposition or not.

I can see how tighter gun laws could be extremely harmful in a war zone or something (Jamaica in the 70s), but in a stable, relatively safe city I don't think they'll do anything but cut down on accidents and such. If your doomsday scenario does occur, then even with fully automatic weapons and grenade launchers, there's no way that the average community could possibly overpower the US military-- they could flood the streets with remote controlled drones right now if that was the plan.

The areas with the lowest murder rates also have the lowest population densities. Maybe we should take all the ~313 million Americans living in the continental US and just relocate them until they all live equidistant to one another? Wait, that's a horrible idea. Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to imply that correlation is causation.

Concerning your comment of people being able to kill: the government are the biggest murderers of all having killed a million people in Iraq alone

I don't know if you knew this, but "government" is just a word to describe the idea of a group of people making decisions. It is not an omnipotent, sapient construct that's out for blood, and you cannot just pin responsibility for something on it. You cannot hold an idea responsible for the deaths of people - but you can hold other people responsible.

Has anyone considered that fluoride water may be behind much of the wide spread "mental illness" in this country? Not that I trust the "diagnosing" ability of psychiatrists, or even their so-called "illnesses," I think they're full of shit, but it is worth considering.

I would post a link, but I'm on my phone. Fluoridating water is completely unnecessary and ingesting fluoride can even be lethal, in high enough concentrations. Unfortunately, in many parts of the country, the fluoride content of the water is absurdly high.

For the record, I don't trust the ADA, either, which is why I use non-fluoride toothpaste. The stuff is toxic: swallow more Colgate than used for brushing and there's a chance you die.

It's not quite conclusive, yet, but I did read about a few studies that linked exposure to high concentrations of fluoride to brain damage and aggressive behavior. But it does make sense when you consider that-- oh yeah, it's toxic! And we're drinking it.

More later~

...~

Yes, lots of people have. It's brought up in most discussions on the subject.

Well, it's a theory-- but if you're talking about crime, then you should know that violent crime, as well as crime in general is actually way way down. You are probably safer now in any major American city than you would have been in the 70s, 80s, 90s or early 00's. In some places, the violent crime rate is actually at an all-time low… I think it was in 2009 when the crime rate in New York (murder, anyways) was actually lower than it has been since they started measuring it.

Compare crime stats today to what they were during the crack epidemic (mid 80s-early 90s) and you'll see just how dramatically crime has come down in the past 20-30 years… seriously, murder rates today are almost 500% lower than they were.

If your primary source of info is the news and paranoid conspiracists, then you're going to think that things only ever get worse, but it's not true-- look up crime stats for all of the major cities over the long term and you'll see I'm right.

Note that mass shootings were done in white middle class areas by white middle class people whose life apparently is way too sweet. Nothing like it would happen after WWII or Vietnam War because people felt pain loosing relatives or friends, the sense of value for a human life was there among the population. Now violence is glorified by shitty movies, shitty video games, shitty music. Empathy and compassion is only discussed in Philosophy courses in college, who no one takes these days, because it's all about making money, not about growing personally. It's all about people's egos, not about others. Big chunk of the population doesn't read serious literature, watches stupid Hollywood flicks that are all about entertainment, made not to provoke any deeper thoughts or introspection. The culture is decaying.
Even in the inner-cities where drugs, guns and violence are high but no one would go into the streets and start shooting people randomly.
This is a problem that can't be solved by restricting ownership of guns or establishing higher measures of security in schools, this is a deep moral problem that most politicians can't deal with and have no clue what to do about.

Strait jackets all around would solve all the problems of society at once. I recommend this! I should be el presidente! No one but me has ever realized how to solve all the problems of society at once. Strait jackets for all from the age of two years old on up. Who is feeding everyone then? Obama and his wife Michelle! How can they do it all? It's automated. Fully automated. And with the food comes tons of barbiturates. Who makes these? It is all fully automated. The whole problem of society is therefore fixed. Automate it with automatic automats. Just engineer it so there are no problemz.
