A friend of mine nearly ran over a deer a few years ago and I was sitting in the car next to him. The deer was marginally ahead of us. For a split second, I thought that the end was nigh and short. But it was not.

A boring everyday reality is the end, and it is a slow torment waiting for something interesting to happen. That is why we have to develop escapist fantasies, such as this thread, to keep us alive.
