Corona / Wuhan virus

Someone actually gave me the answer to this. They use the toilet paper to wipe their hands dry after washing them with soap and water.

Maybe they use them as body towels too.

Oh, ok! Probably it's more sensible to wipe hands with paper because of the virus.

This is impressive.

Culture plays a big part in these things.

Community minded cultures react better to community threatening events. Asia is mostly still very community minded, although that is changing.

Individualist cultures like American tend to fair less well.

Oh, definitely. I can see why Asian countries react better to this pandemic or events like this in general. ^-^

Exactly as the western mindset is basically any action other than inaction is overreaction until it is time to panic and then buy out all the toilet paper. The positivists and in the box thinkers are like a wall where nothing happens until something big hits bringing the whole wall down.

They are doing great with those numbers!
We'll see how apathetic those here in the US stay!
The problem here is, we have some that take it totally too seriously, and then we have those who think it's all a damn joke or some political conspiracy to crash the economy so Trump isn't reelected.
We need people to take it seriously, but be sensible about it - we need the POTUS to tell his cult followers to quit fucking around...but I'm not sure he has the ability to switch to such messaging after doubling and tripling down on dumb BS that isn't true, like tests being done at a wonderful rate.

^^^ The woman in the first picture isn't wearing her mask correctly, there are huge gaps around her nose...totally pointless if worn like this.
I feel sorry for them though, who knows how long they have been at it!
I used to wear goggles/masks all day, every day and never have seen anyone getting chaffed - even on 3 day call weekends.
IDK...maybe their masks have a cozy sandpaper strip inside, lol
If you have masks...make sure you have it on properly.

:mask:

Business as usual in England.

My heart goes out to my loved ones, and their loved ones. And I wish that as the virus spreads like Boris wants, his loved ones and those that voted for him are the ones that build up the herd immunity.
I heard about his plan to keep everything open right?
Strange.

People are STILL buying TP.
Get over it folks!
What in the hell.
It's only certain stores though too I notice.
Safeway is sold out, but Dollar Tree next door has a crap-ton (and it's only a dollar lol).

Yes, saw his speech from across the pond. Boris being a bit of tool.

"Some people will have loved ones taken before their time."

Basically read as:

For when the one to three month lock down begins, hope everyone was able to make some level of prep even if all it was groceries enough to get through a couple of weeks+.

Yeah one month is going to be a stretch. Three months there will be riots. I can't think a time in the last few centuries where a large population has been able to be locked down for such a long period.

Cities are much more densly populated compared to history. Even just from a food perspective if this goes on for too long its not just going to be TP that'll be out.

Self isolating or lock down on Truck Drivers would be killer. Cities can't support themselves.

Its easy for China where the government controls everything. In Europe or the US there simply isn't the level of control to simply switch everything off for 3 months.

Easier for the US though as there is the Federal government. In Europe it'd be chaos as every country formulates its own response with all minor governments with their own policies too.

Also the US is self sufficient for food. Europe, not so much. Some nations might stock pile and let their neighbours starve as the crisis drags on.
