Trump will win again

Voting shift since 2020. Length of arrow indicates degree of shift.

In other news, the bond sell-off has already begun.

Cheers,

I'm just glad it was a resounding win and democracy functioned as intended

It's too bad that "deep state" just means the Left for people now.
Maybe a couple republican presidents will sort things.

Will be so surprised if Drumpf is even alive two years in.
Y'all thought Biden was a ghoul, you're about to see the ghoulification of your own Dear Leader 🤣

Well, DC did vote like 95% for the Dems, so there's that.

And Trump has complete outsiders in his cabinet. And they tried to jail him. I'm just reading now that DOJ is dropping the cases against him. It's clear that those charges were politically motivated.

Dems need to really lick their wounds and have a complete re-think. Yeah Trump is a buffoon, but how bad are they to lose against him twice? This one feels bigger than 2016 though. This time it was both the regular folk saying FU to the establishment, and also a lot of elites (a la Musk) who had it with the Democrats on the ideological grounds. They simply went too far.

I hope the they self reflect and change. I believe they will. Lashing out on Trump and his supporters is not gonna work.

I had a fifty fifty chance, right?!

I thought he was gonna win against biden and was wrong so I guess, eventually I was right again! haha
I know, I was really just having fun with the title and then projecting your superior mental prowess to make you feel good.

But if you want to make it about math, then technically I think it was 1 out of 4 rather than 1 out of 2. Saying that you psychically predicted it just seems more interesting and fun.

I think, and hear me out on this, it has/had about as much to do with moral alignment as it did/does political alignment.
There's a lot of crossover between the two.
I've always said that he's obviously not done anything that bad since he's still not locked up.
Curious to see if we'll finally get to witness him shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue.

ICE Raids are back on the menu boys

Yes, moral and ethical alignment is a big part. Liberals seem to find Trump morally bankrupt within his own personal interactions. Conservatives find that Biden (and KH indirectly), morally and ethically bankrupt with respect to profiting internationally while the people are getting fleeced to the point that there is extreme homelessness and inflation is making it near impossible to survive for many of the lower financial tiers of society.

People found Trump to be the better option because if moral and ethical issues exist in both candidates (which is nearly always the case), and their lives were better with one than the other, then they will select the option with higher utility.

Of course the attacks on Trump had the appearance that the entire system was attacking him and this in turn helped the people relate because they feel the same way.

Biden and KH are more politically connected and I believe that was a detractor in this election. Over the long term, being more connected will theoretically produce a better result; however, people want results now because the country feels like it is in crisis. Citizens don't have the stomach for everything falling down around them and the threat of global war looming simultaneously.

At least that's what I see from the outside of both parties. I'm more of a pragmatist.

lmfao

I guess Trump won't win a presidential campaign again.

I really hope in the post loss analysis that the democrat party fundamentally changes five areas.
1. No more extreme rhetoric.
2. No more selling out to corporate interests.
3. No more railroading candidates in the primary process.
4. No more obsession with celebrities.
5. No more pitting the sexes against each other, nor pitting race against race.

Next time it will be just as extreme, only inverted and by the other party. We have to be kept on our toes and guessing.

For example, "no more extreme rhetoric," will be, "no more passive aggressive rhetoric with extreme punishment."

I read that Kamala raised 4x the money that Trump did from donors. I wonder where all that money went. Would like to see some audit.
Given that Trump held way more rallies as well. How much money they spent on zero or even negative ROI investments such as getting endorsed by P Diddy's ex-gf J.Lo.

Doesn't help the perception that Democrats are just kabal of insiders syphoning money for themselves.
I see that 84 year old Nansi Pelosi won a new term as well...

Kamala was only running for President a short period of time. Imagine the money combined between her and Biden for this position.

I read an article that suggested a big chunk of the money came from shell charitable companies because that money can’t be traced and the donor doesn’t have to be disclosed.

I’m surprised Pelosi is still kicking. 84 and she still wants to be working in Washington? That says something.

I don’t mean to say this in a way that is either good or bad as a judgement, but let’s be very clear based on her life’s track record in politics: Nancy Pelosi is a political animal, and was seemingly born to this.

Cheers,
Ian

Oh, I agree. She reminds me of the old Scottish King in the movie Braveheart; wicked smart and would turn the screws on anyone that got in the way. She'll probably die before she leaves office.
